3Q MRC Junior

Eventually no. My kids are now in PCF Tampines West at Blk 887. Impt reasons being: (1) Comparing the two principals, I prefer the PCF one. Just gut feel that she is more educational kind than the money kind. (2) this particular PCF is recommended by one of my neighbour (3) I can use baby bonus to pay for the fee, uniform, etc. Till now, I didn't fork out a single cent except paying for the museum outing next week.Hi Im new here. Also scouting for a CCC or KG for my boy in Tampines vicinity. Nonkiasu... so did you enrol your triplet with MRC in Tampines (presently is called 3house).
Anyone out there able to share about 3house in Tampines or good CCC. Thanks in advance!
Less impt reasons are: (4) both program includes snack time, outdoor, etc but PCF is 1 hr longer. I have longer break time since i turn SAHM now. Also I prefer PCF time slot, from 8am to 12pm rather than 3house's 11.30pm to 2.30pm. (5) PCF has enough classes for my triplets to be in different classes. If at 3house, my boys will be in the same class which is not ideal for my case.
Btw, I happen to drop by the CC 2 weeks ago and saw that 3house conduct their outdoor activity infront of the food court. They were doing some form of exercise but the music was blasting indoor, so loud that I don't feel comfortable.
Oh ya, 1 more pt. I talked to principal at Pasir Ris MRC as well. She has some views on the 3house. You may want to talk to her, contact avail in website. So, this added my discomfort.
But at the 3house, I met 2 mommies whose kids were with my boys from previous childcare. Three of us have much common complaints abt the childcare that we went. That's why we all pull our kids out of the childcare. These 2 mums where happy at 3house.
Eventually, I think you should talk to the pricicpal and feel comfortable with her. -
Hi nonkiasu, Thank you for your prompt reply! Appreciate that! Ok, will give a call to Pasir Ris MRC and check it out. Btw, did you have any information about Eileen’s child care, esp about the teachers as it play an important part in children’s life. Thanks.

I think it was one of the childcare I visited more than 3 years ago. I didn't choose it. Can't remember the reason now.
Understand your difficulty in choosing a childcare. I went thru this twice. The 1st time when my triplets were still a baby and the 2nd time when they were 2 yrs old. For both selected centre, the reason to choose them and the reason to leave them are the same: I choose them bec I feel good abt their 'form' teachers. But mind you, teachers turnover rate at chilcare is high. The reason why I left the centre bec the good teachers left. So, give up trying to find a good centre, and be a SAHM -

Hi, recently I just withdrawn my child from 3 House.Hi Im new here. Also scouting for a CCC or KG for my boy in Tampines vicinity. Nonkiasu... so did you enrol your triplet with MRC in Tampines (presently is called 3house).

Reason 1 : she is not ready for classroom setting, she cried alot in class
and had nightmares. ( she went in at 22months old just to give
it a trial to socialise with peers)
Reason 2 : Class rooms are too small and it's too academic based.
I was shocked to see teacher gave out a thick stack of home
worksheets for pre-Nur child to do during school holidays for
preparing for next year N1. (They are still so young!)
Reason 3: They mop the classrooms during school hours and shifting
children from class to class. The solution's smell is so strong
and can you imaging how bad it is for children to breathe in the
chemical?
Reason 4: All levels will be affected by K2 Concert practice and no class
for these days.
Reason 5 : No in/outdoor play. (Very stressful 3 hours without these for young children)
There are other concerns but not convenient to further comment openly.
I should say parents who are academically (worksheets) minded may consider their approach.
My opinion is a preschool should be a place for children to have fun and space to move about and aquire holistic approach and overall development. -
hi hi, sorry for not replying early. Was busy w my elder daughter sch work. My son has yet to join The Learning Curve. Most probably will start next year. Quite exp, cost $1305 per 11-wk term. Normal mainstream comes with 10-wk term but The Learning Curve comes with 11-wk term. Hence, will have some difficulity in planning family holiday in future. Will definitely share with you all on my experience.

Thanks for the info. Where do you put your child then? -

Hi HappyKKCC
Thanks for the info. Where do you put your child then?
I think my girl is not ready for classroom setting. She is only 2 years old by this coming Christmas. I am taking her for enrichment classes like Julia Gabriel bilingual playcbub at forum, Lorna Whiston speech and drama still on waiting list, and going for a trail at Peekaboo at Kallang Leisure. The above classes are only once a week for 10weeks term, the main consideration is parent accompanied programme. It's really tedious to travel especially i am not driving. Sounds very Kiasu right? No choice la, just want to spent another year of quality time with my girl.
By the way, where are you staying and how old is your child? -
Wow, really On!
This yr he is 4 yrs old and will be K1 next yr. Staying in Tampines, blk 727. Yet to decide to go child care or 3 house, before end of this yr. :? -

Oh we are very near to each other. I am staying at the new Premium Block. Did you try the Acorn Premium Kindergarten at block 713? I spotted the banner at the traffic junction but couldnt allocate their website(they don have it), so i had decided to pay a visit there. The centre is run by PAP, it is a premium centre with hands on approach like some other private schools. They also have speech and drama, music lessons to learn key board and cozy library. The class ration is so much smaller than those common PAP centres. (2 teachers to 10 or 12 nursery kids and K1 and K2 15 kids per class ) Of course the school fees is higher. (Pre nursery is $163/month and the higher levels are slightly higher.) I was impressed to see the centre at block 725 (for Nursery levels). Not sure about BlK 713 for K1 and K2)Wow, really On!

You should go down and take a look and make quick decision because their demand is quite high. My girl is on waiting list for prenursery till she reaches 2.5 years old next year.
I am only Kiasu for the next fisrt half year. Just want to try out other enrichment programmes and try to learn something from them.
All the best to you and let me know how you feel if you have visited the place.
