Any feedbacks on CH @ Corporation Place.

Can anyone provide feedback on Cherie Hearts/MMI at NorthStar. I am thinking of enrolling my daughter for Nursery next year. Thanks.

Hi all, just read news on CNA that Cherie Hearts is under receivership. Not sure how seriously their financial problem is, but parents who have kids in any of their centres better find out more.

The holding co is under receivership for not being able to fulfil something on their loan. They claim that the CH centres are not directly affected; but better to ask your school principals and keep a keen eye on it. -
hi, managed to speak to the branch director of my son’s centre.
Most of the cherie hearts centres are owned by the franchisee and hence mananging their own financials/cashflow. She assured that e centre is profitable, and hence there will not be any impact. An australian listed child care has just acquired cherie hearts and being an established chain in australia looking at expanding into singapore, they will continue to grow cherie hearts. Not sure if they will contine to use e cherie hearts brandname or their australian childcare brandnames in the longer term though. -

You are too late. That is what G8 has done... acquire all cherie hearts branch in singapore. The bubble finally burst...
It's time for those who are keen to open centre to look see whether got any fire sale to pick up from the market (need more info about what's G8 actually position is in the whole relationship)...
I know it's 'black hearted' to write like this but all should know a bubble if keep blowing and blowing will 'pop' one day...
Guess you have to wait till G8 goes burst. -
If the holding co. is able to expand its biz so fast within a few years, and claimed that they are profitable, wonder how it went into receivership. Problems with the Directors and management?? I have visited the CH near my place but found that their enthusiasm is very superficial. Anyone who is looking for a childcare centre for their kids would have noticed that even the way Cherie Hearts market their branches, is "violating" the law. Banners are being hung along road sides, which is not a proper form for advertising.
I am lucky for not registering my children with CH ( I didn’t as I found that their uniforms look like those of maids in some maid agencies). If my kids were there, I would have pulled them out straight away though there is assurance from the principals/staff. God knows what will happen next, esp when the name "Cherie Hearts" has turned bad. I wouldn’t want my children to be known as "cherians".
Parents of "Cherians" esp from centres owned by the holding co. themselves had better look for another childcare centres/preschool before it is too late. I believe there are many other good and responsible centres around. -

I think ur comment is not fair and biased.... esp since it is ur first post.
I m placed my kid in 2 cherie hearts centre and find that e directors n teachers i hv experiences with r enthusiastic n sincere... it really depends on e branches... even the banner thing which u mention, i hv also seen other reputable names put banners everywhere...
u r obviously taking e opportunity to hit out on e chain due to this piece of news. -
received a circular from my kid’s centre today:
CHERIE HEARTS GROUP INTERNATIONAL is the entity which is put under receivership.
CHERIE HEARTS HOLDINGS owns and operates the franchise business in s’pore and CHERIE HEARTS CORPORATE owns and operates the centres acquired by G8 education. Both CHERIE HEARTS HOLDINGS and CHERIE HEARTS CORPORATE are not associated to CHERIE HEARTS GROUP INTERNATIONAL.
confusing due to the acquisition arrangements. however, what it means is that, according to the circular, the receivership of CHERIE HEARTS GROUP INTERNATIONAL will not affect operations at the centre level. -

Aiyo.. you can read from the news lah.. G8 is smart to acquire only the local CC, not the oversea CC..They loan (not give) $$ to Sam Yap as a part of the deal for their (i think oversea) investment which i think turned sour.happydaddy:

emmm.... gotta wait till maybe G8 finally computed how big the hole actually is I guess...
I predicted this day will come about 3 years ago...
I kept hinting to people who are interested in setting up business not to be too impressed with 'quantity'...
only people with sound ethics can run long term business...
PS:
Founder 'Dr' Sam Yap... do you know where and how he got his title? Can go research about it if you are keen.
Anyway, it is a good times for other BIG CC to whack Cherie hearts...
