Hi, when your child is just beginning school at P1 and P2, a key focus would be building confidence and desire to learn. As the school adopts Holistic Assessment practices, your child's development will be supported by a range of appropriate assessment modes for different purposes. At this stage, the assessment approach places less emphasis on semestral examinations to provide your child with more opportunities to experience success and build his/her confidence and desire to learn. At the end of P2, the students have Semestral Assessment. By the way at West Spring Primary all classes have a good mix of students with different abilities. There is no stand out class. Hopes this will clear your doubts.

Hi bb_1314 I understand the orientation is on the 2 Jan 2018 and the admin day for all P1 2018 parents will be on either 22 or 23 Nov 2017. Hopes this information help. The school normally held the orientation on the first day of school as a lot of parents will be taking leave that day hence the school hopes parents can fully utilize their leave. By the way welcome to the West Spring family. :rahrah:

Is it usually for P1 students to have assessment/test the week before the March school holiday, or at the first week when term 2 starts?
