West Spring Primary

I have always been browsing through this site for a very long time. I chose this school because the majority of whom I talked to had very high opinions about the school.
Today, my daughter came home with a bright smile. She spent hours making homemade cards for her teachers. I told her that we can buy gifts but she said she doesn’t want that as her principal has mentioned that they aren’t supposed to buy gifts for their teachers.
Her teachers also mentioned so. I was pleasantly surprised. The school has made the students feel that handmade gifts were the best. She mentioned that the teachers were smiling and that they had fun making cards and playing games with the classmates and teachers during their last period.
She mentioned that there were some parents who helped out with the activities in class and that it was fun for everyone !
It was amazing to hear that she has enjoyed the day. She went to school happily and came back happily. She has faced difficulties and difficult moments at school but she has faced and solved all her problems on her own as it is a growing up process in resilience.I can see how different & confident she is now.
She mentioned eagerly about going to watch her friends perform for the 5th anniversary and she enjoyed it greatly. I loved how she accepted that she didn’t get to perform but one day she will as the school creates many such opportunities.

I heard that the school continued lessons as normal,not like many other schools having early day off yesterday,including my own school where I am teaching.
I was afraid my child would be unhappy that it was not an early day but with lessons till 3.30pm.But to my surprise,my child came back saying that the principal said that the teachers will continue teaching the students because the teachers cared for their studies.Wow,I was so impressed with the attitude !
Frankly,one reason why I decided to choose this school is because of strict discipline and character values taught which I heard so much about.No regrets.
My students in my own school are not as well disciplined and it’s just so tiring having to keep chasing them for work and things.
My child is always so excited about the different fruits the school gets each week for children to eat which I myself have not eaten before in my life like blackberries, raspberry and blue berry.Previously, my child used to be very fussy and would not want to eat vegetables and fruit.To my surprise, my child will say that the principal said cannot waste food and must learn to eat different types of fruits which is good for health.I even now find myself eating them.My nieces and nephews also all are envious that their schools don’t have all this but I tell them they’re staying too far away to come to this school.
So I must say the school is also teaching me as well to be a better parent.

I'm a secondary chemistry teacher in a school in Woodlands .If you are not happy with things,you have a choice to where you want to put your child.I've compared several schools before I choose this school which is why I feel strongly about my choice.

Good you are happy. We are not. Not only this but many reason we are not happy with this school.
You think it good school blame teachers taking photo of kidz. Teacher ttold me they no choice. But school say they not communicate this to teachers. -

Hi to all,
I am new to this forum. I don’t whether this is the correct place to post enquire,my son will be entering West Spring Pri in 2019, may I enquire whether there are any recommendation of student care/ after sch care popular among West spring student? ( I did not manage to enrol into the student within the sch). TIA.
