      West Spring Primary School
      last edited by

      Dear Parents,

Thank you for your great support for our new primary school in Bukit Panjang.

Even after we’ve closed the phone line on Friday, 12 July 2013 at 5.00pm, we continued receiving calls and messages by emails from some more interested parents. As such, we’ve sought the help of Zhenghua Secondary to add in more seats in the hall for the chat session on Sunday, 21 July 2013 at 10.30 am with the Principal & Vice-Principal of West Spring Primary.

There will also be a simple display of the type of healthy & balanced food that the school plans to have for West Spring pupils on that day. More information on the school will be shared on that day. Do start listing down your queries and we’ll collate the questions and address them during the chat session. As such, in this way, it’ll be a more meaningful & engaging session for you on that day.

If you happen to be one of the interested parents who’d not been able to sign up for the chat session last week, please contact Mdm Noor at 6284 4967, Mon –Fri, from 9am to 5pm.

      Closing date : Thursday, 18 July 2013 at 5.00pm

We look forward to having you and your child join us at West Spring Primary in 2014!

I think those who have not called in to register for the chat session should do so. I have just called Mdm Noor, and was welcome by her warmth and cheerfulness over the line. This made me very positive for this school even though my child is not due for Primary 1 yet. I have tried calling another primary school early this year and was disappointed by the rudeness of the staff which made me think no matter how popular that school is, I will not send my kid there, thinking of how we parents will be treated if we should have any problems in the future that we need to clarify.

I am definitely looking forward for this Sunday. 🙂 :rahrah:

          Hi all

My son is primary one next year and I am keen in west spring primary school too. Have signed up for the informal chat this coming Sunday and looking forward to it. Reading through this thread, the questions which been posted so far (including my questions) which we hope to be addressed by the principle during the chat session:

          1) programmes for PERI initiatives
          2) play-based learning approach (how it will help the child and the types of play-based learning approach that will be use)
          3) what type of ccas will west spring start with in pri 3? (am i too early to ask?)
          4) are the teachers into full time teaching? (sorry to ask but i do know some new/old schools started off with trainee teachers or part time teachers for lower pri till the sch has found replacement).
          5) whether will there be any chance of setting up school based student care and also on school bus.
          6) will canteen be serving healthy food
          7) programme for the P1 orientation and how many days will it last
😎 will part of the school be still under construction when school starts next year. A bit concerned as the school construction is seemed to be still in the structual stage and it is less than six months to finish. (some children may be "overwhelmed " by the construction noise and unfamiliar uncles moving around the school, like my son especially in a new environment. )
          9) will there be lesser textbooks to bring to school since the school will be played based approach ( understand now school children need to carry heavy school bag every day)

Do add on so that our queries can be addressed.

          Thanks

                  Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your wonderful support.

At the close of our phone line yesterday evening, we’ve about 300 interested participants who had already registered for the chat session on this coming Sunday at Zhenghua Secondary.

Additional seats have already been added to the hall. We’re now in the process of packing the goodies bag, which will also include a Lego sample kit (which will be part of West Spring’s Play-based Experiential Constructionism approach to learning).Your child will get to experience learning through Lego whilst the chat session is going on.

The phone line is closed from now till 5.00 pm today. We will begin contacting all parents who have registered with us for gentle reminder. Also, the phone line will not be answered as Mdm Noor will be at Zhenghua Secondary School for preparations this afternoon.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday!

                      Hi Parents,

I attended the chat yesterday and took down notes to share. Very good session as the P and VP shared with us about West Spring. They were very approachable, open and honest about things and also clarified a number of our queries. The service at registration counter for the chat was really excellent. No long queues at all as there were 3 counters set up! Well done West Spring!...

                        Hi parents,

Sadly I had missed the chat session last Sunday.
From the feedback of some mummies, West Spring seem to be a fairly good school.
May I know since it is a new school, so does the school only take in P1 students? Meaning that 2014 will be the first batch and the students will have no seniors?
