Dear WSPS
The orientation today were indeed fruitful & informative. Touring of school had given us an overview of the school environment that my girl will be engaging in her next 6 years.
However, it is a little sad for us as our girl could not attend today’s orientation as she is running with fever since Tuesday. And therefore she did not get to attend the activities & getting to know her classmates.
We are not sure & hope if WPSP will be conducting a short briefing , introduction to her or any other kids that had missed this chance during the 1st day of school?? And if there is any senior to bring them to classroom , show them the necessary facilities (canteen, toilets) or help them buy food in their first day since no parents will not be allowed in school except viewing from afar.
TIA for sharing your experiences… -

Base on my past experience ,my daughter is the first batch of student. During that time, the school actually got those big brothers & sisters from the secondary school next door(ZhengHua secondary school) to accompany them in buying foods and moving around the canteen and parade square as for toilet I am not too sure. But not too worry about this as the teachers will make sure their transition from K2 to P1 will be as fluent as possible. I still remember during the first day at school some of the teachers dress up as angel and put up ballons at the lobby to welcome the children. This is done to allay their fear. Great job from the teachers. By the way, what class your child is in ? -
Hi LFC4ever
Thanks for sharing. Agree, the teachers did a real good job and had put in a lot of effort. My girl will be in Class 1G. -

first of all, welcome to the West Spring family. You have made the right choice in choosing WSPS for your daughter. I am sorry to hear that your daughter was not feeling very well and was therefore unable to attend the orientation. I am not sure if the school will have time to arrange another briefing as it is coming to the school end. Don't worry as your daughter will make lots of new friends on her first day. I remember my son's first day of school this year, the teachers and the WSPS team made it a very special day. This year, the school has not only a great Teacher/Staff team but they also have a group of dedicated parent support group of volunteers. Your daughter will also have the help from the P2 students. I am sure she will be fine and that she will enjoy her new school. Please feel free to ask us anything and we will try to help with answering any questions. You may also telephone the school and speak to Madam Noor.
