Very impressive 1st day for the new semester! Felt like going to an opening of a carnival. With such level of the effort, creativity and determination, I'd be very expecting to see my son's progress for 2015. :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:

One issue is that the new MConline is empty and the MConline app is also empty. The parent forum is missing as well. Noticed that the website address has been changed so probably things are still under construct but please be hurry.

 Tips for logging on the MConline app: use WESTSPRINGPS as the school name/code.

MConline was under maintenance the past few days. Please try to log on later this weekend or on Monday. πŸ˜„

Well done to all the team on a great start of the school year. The teachers, staff and all the P2 students went to a lot of hard work and effort in welcoming the new P1 West Springers. It was a joy to see. The colourful and vibrant atmosphere brought smiles on the student and adult faces.

Please do log onto MCONLINE to join the discussion with the school and other parents.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ONCE AGAIN TO ALL OUR WEST SPRINGERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. :thankyou:

                  Hi all

Can anyone advise me what does the acronym mean in the timetable? I've made a guess for EL, MA and MT but there are a few I don't get it and couldn't find any communications from the school on it either:

PEHE, PAL, ICT & CCE - not sure what to bring
                  :scratchhead:

                    Hi Boys Manager,
                    Character and Citizenship Education (CCE)
                    Programme for Active Learning (PAL)
Information and communications technology - (ICT)
                    Physical Education/Health Education (PEHE)

Don't worry on what to bring. The form teacher will update your child on the books to bring for each subject.

Please remember to log onto MCONLINE to join the parents forum. This will give you an opportunity to ask questions and share your opinions direct with the school.

                    Have a good weekend.

Thank you WPS Teachers, Staff and PSG for making the first day of school a memorable one.

However, the 2nd day of school is a little bit confusing for my son at least. I understood that we had to leave our child at the gate and enter the school premise on his own. He was very reluctant but the security officer was very kind to allow me to accompany him to the canteen.

My son was sitting on his own when I left, waiting for flag raising to commence. There were children sitting on the canteen floor and some on the benches. As such, I am unsure of what is the routine upon arrival in school.

If someone can share on this as I wish to better prepare my child on school routine.

                      Thanks in advance all!

                        Hi Nahmad,
welcome to the West Spring Family. πŸ˜„
All parents/guardians are to say goodbye to their child at the side gate. The same applies to all schools as this is for security and safety reasons.

I assure you that your son will soon adjust and will be fine walking in on his own. My advice would be for you to talk to him at home and let him know what will happen each morning. πŸ˜„

Once at the gate, give him a hug and wave him goodbye and try not to feel anxious.

School reporting time is at 0740. Some students arrive early and are in the canteen having a snack. When the students enter the school, they need to use the finger print scanner to register their attendance for the day. The students will then make their way to the parade square or to the hall and wait in the class group until assembly starts at 0740.The students will do silent reading in the hall or parade square until assembly starts. There will be staff and teachers around to help and to guide the students either to the hall or the parade square.

Primary 1 can be an anxious time for the child and the second day of school can be equally anxious. Rest assured that your child is in good hands at West Spring. Just remember to tell your child that you will say goodbye at the gate.

I will always be on this forum if you had any other questions but please do log onto mconline as well. The mconline website is a direct way to ask the school questions and to share your views and opinions with the school. If you were to have any urgent enquiries, please telephone the school.

Once again, I am sure your child will soon adjust with his new school life.

                        :thankyou:
