Hi manU,
Are u studying in VS? Need to check with u something.
Thanks,
Rylee
what info are you looking for?
My ds2 will be studying in VS next year (thru' DSA). My questions are: -
1) he was offered to study 3rd language. Our selection will be Japanese (1st choice), French (2nd schoice) and lastly German. May I know do VS conduct anyone of the above in house? Will like to pick the one that was conducted in VS.
2) beside the school book shop, where can we buy the VS school uniform? (don't think the book shop sell school uniform except on the 22 Dec reporting day which will be crowded, I believe.)
Thanks,
Rylee
1. 3rd language subjects are not taught in-house but at other schools/centres
2. not sure if shops outside sell them, esp if some of the uniform, t-shirts, socks etc have VS name on them -
Appreciate that. Think have to think twice about the 3rd language. Will call the book shop to check on the uniform purchase.
Thanks. -
Anyone knows the total number of IP intake for 2012 Sec 1 batch? Any places already alloted by DSA? How many vacancies left? :?:

From from the principal during the open house in may. Total IP intake is 90. Already allocated 44 for DSA. So, left around 46 for the s1 posting. -

Thanks for the info rylee. With such a small number of intake, expect the COP will be higher than 255...tisha:

But taken into consideration the cop for O level intake already 246 last year, think cop for IP should be in the range of around 253~255.rylee:

Dear victorians,
How do u cope with HML in VS? With tuition or teachers’ help is suffice?
My DS’s command of English is only so so, how much help from the teachers are we looking at?
For those who have to take more than an hour to school, how do you manage your time? -

Hi, I bought my ds's uniform last week ( he is in year3) at the bookshop so they should have the uniform for the lower sec students. Call the bookshop and beat the queue. All the best to your son in VS! -

Make it all in the Victoria family…

NOW that Victoria Junior College (VJC) and Victoria School (VS) are moving ahead with the launch of an Integrated Programme along with Cedar Girls’ Secondary School from next year, VJC and VS should consider renaming themselves collectively as Victoria School (‘More schools to offer Integrated Programme’; Nov 19)
Victoria School has produced three former Singapore presidents - Yusof Ishak, Devan Nair and S R Nathan - as well as many other prominent alumni, such as Mr S. Dhanabalan and Professor Edwin Thumboo, in its 135-year history.
VJC will share Victoria School’s unique heritage.
The two schools already have ‘Victoria’ in their respective names so a collective renaming would strengthen ties and identities among its student bodies.
VS supplies a large number of the junior college’s yearly cohort and the sharing of a common name will build upon the unique relationship that both schools have.
