Time to take stock for some prediction.

Your predictions have been generally correct. But good boys schools aren't affected more than other schools as you have predicted. RI has come down by 3 points. HCI by 2 points. DHS came down by 1 point only. NYGS goes up by 1 point! RGS came down by 3 points (or 5 points?). RV didn't maintained or go up, it has come down 3 points on par with other schools generally. The new campus didn't attract more sudents with higher aggregate scores. You have to take note that RV's COP is only lower than a few schools, so in order to increase COP, it has to attract students from these schools not just students generally. Moreover, their open house last year isn't in the new campus so new campus effect has probably not kicked in yet. Further, it is the success of the IP which is more important and we haven't see the outcome yet.
Whoa....such complicated predictions above. I had already expected all the COPs to be lower and that this year's cohort didn't do as well as a whole just from the performance from my child's school alone - a GEP SAP sch. A simple observation - yes, there are students at the top, but so few! Very unlike previous years.

How do we find out what is the highest score for every school in the S1 posting results ?

Must we wait until the MOE book is out next year in Oct 2010 ?

[quote=\"CrazyDad\"]For IP school, so far the variation of COP has been limited to 1 point. So do not expect it to drop much. Probably another point for this year since the drop of the number of students is pretty significant.

Anyway, I am glad tha tyou have upgrade NJC to top tier again :rahrah:

My estimation and forecast as below:

Top 3 % - above 261 since this is the EESIS COP this year. If you calculate the total number of IP school, estimate their intakes, take 30% of them (according to MOE), divided by the cohort this year, you will find out that it is about top 3%.

We also know that 248 is the top 10% as this is the COP for 3rd Lang. (French, Japanese, German) this year.

So we can estimate the rests as below:

          Top 3%: 261 and above
          259 - 260: Top 4%
          257 - 258: Top 5%
          255 - 256: Top 6%
          253 - 254: Top 7%
          251 - 252: Top 8%
          249 - 250: Top 9%
          248: Top 10%

The total intake of all the IP schools is estimated to be around 5% ~ 6% of the cohort (take 400 x No. of IP school, divided by total no. of PSLE cohort).

I think this year the cohort in overall didn't do well. You can see from the drop of EESIS COP and the top 10% is now at COP 248!!

Also, you will notice that RI COP over the past few years was about 1 point below the EESIS while RGS and NYGH COPs were 1 ~ 2 points above RI or on the EESIS COP.

Therefore, we can estimate the RI COP this year is about 260, while RGS and NYGH will be around 261.

I also estimated that the COP for RVH will be either maintain or up due to their new campus and they are now \"truely\" at the west to attrach those live in the west.

HCI, DHS, ACSI COPs should go down as well. Boys' schools school such as HCI and ACSI may be affected most as their \"customers base\" is very limited and boys generally do not do as well as girls.

Anyway, we will find out on 22nd Dec. Good luck to all !! Cheers

Hi, 226 is consider a good result, don't be sad.

Some suggestions on the schools you may want to consider. I recommended these schools as their MEAN and MEDIAN scores are close to your PSLE score. Do not choose those schools with high UPPER score but low MEAN and MEDIAN.

You can use the MOE application to help you choose the schools,
                    http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_AdvSearch.asp

If you have in mind which CCA to join, you may want to let us know, so that I can recommend those schools good in those CCAs you are interested.

                    1) AHMAD IBRAHIM SECONDARY SCHOOL (Yishun)
                    2) EVERGREEN SECONDARY SCHOOL (Woodlands)
                    3) DEYI SECONDARY SCHOOL (AMK)
                    4) WOODLANDS RING SECONDARY SCHOOL (Woodlands)
                    5) ORCHID PARK SECONDARY SCHOOL (Yishun)

                    Cheers

My daughter score is 223, now her dream to go to IP school will not be happening. We are looking which school to choose now. Using the above link, gave us a list of school which none were in original list. We live in mount Faber, should we risk some school with higher cop or stick to match or close to her score. Is Gan Eng Seng and Ngee An are good schools? Any advise please?

                      🙏
