Looks like our DDs will end up being school/class mates next yr. I feel so assured leaving my DD in the capable hands of Mdm Heng.
Came across a parent reading this website during the tea reception :yikes:

                    ngbrdad:
Anybody with news and feedback from NUSH tea today ?

                    update on NUSH tea:

briefing by P & VP largely marketing exercise, talked a lot about the competitions that NUSH kids have won, the international summer programme link-ups with prestigious varsities abroad, and assurance that kids will be exposed to a well-rounded education without the stress of national exams. Some parents were crowding around the P at tea break in the hall, but I didn't join in, so maybe other parents can share about what they heard.

personally i think talking to the students will give you a better idea of school life there. What we heard during the open house was re-affirmed: students there don't go for tuition, whatever they don't understand, they will ask their teachers or seniors for help. I asked a Y4 girl how many percent of her classmates have difficulty coping, and she was stumped for an answer. To her, it's not a common problem.

There are non-science activities going on in the school too, with a pretty active writers' circle and pretty good school orchestra.

DD is sold on going there. I think like many parents, we also worry about whether it is too early to specialise. But i guess for some kids, it's not what is taught but HOW it is taught that makes a difference. Just hope that we have finally found the right fit for DD.

                      Hi tiggermum,
:thankyou: for sharing. Wonderful that NUSH exposes their students to non-science activities too.

Glad to hear your DD likes NUSH. May she find her niche in science there. :celebrate:
