:shock: 12/25 and 10/24 are very low CO/WL hit rate for GEP. Such numbers are lower than some top Higher Ability classes.
Most if not all GEP girls have CO/WL.
Taking an example of 350:200 GEP boy:girl scenario,
80%of 550=440
440-200 girls= 240 boys
240/350=69% hit rate for boys with DSA CO/WL
350-440= 110 boys no CO/WL

Saving grace is eventually >90% get into IP after PSLE but got handful in non-IP.
One of the selling point to attract people into accepting the GEP offer was more than 80% will get secondary school of their choice thru DSA. -

number of DSA success in 2010 : 155 out of 472 entire cohort, and a few GEP kids did not apply DSA at all -

My point is that the stats may show 80% success rate for DSA but it doesn't mean 80% success rate at the top schools. Success rate at your top tier schools may only be 50%, with the remaining 30% getting COs from 2nd tier schools they have no intention of going to. For these kids, it's as good as not getting a CO/WL, but statistically, they're counted as successful.
