I just check her contract and it force me to keep her for 1 month minimum. I have no choice , but I am very frustrated. Cant sleep because i am thinking of how to talk to her about her laziness. I have not said a single thing to her. I even allow her to bring her HP ( she first lied to me no phone but after that she says she has one as she is a transfer case) so I actually dont mind her having as long as her work is ok. I am stressed because my son is sitting for PSLE this year. so iam just wondering should I keep her until 7 Oct that is the last day of PSLe or just change her now. I actually do not want any more burmese maid, I will go back to Indonesian. I know Indonesian have their own problems but at least they are not as lazy as this burmese maid. She even told my MIL maid that why do my MIL work so hard…

r2010… yr contract of one month is more a formality, actually its negotiable. Most agents state 1 mth cos in the case of fresh maids it takes abt 3 wks for W/p to b out n agent cant transfer, thats what one agent told me. There r some agents that want u to keep a month so that they can make at least a months loan back n some will say a month for both parties to get to know each other.

I think ur maid is sorry to say, hopeless. Better start looking for a change. Her mind is not focused to work. U can still talk to her to work hard but even if she change it will be for a while.
Go tell yr agent off for sending u one that has a attitude problem and how come they dont know she has a hp.
By the time u get a replacement it will be close to a month, the agent will probably tell u the next maid ur taking will be in later, so better start selecting. No point the agent talk to the burmese, this type wont change.

r2010, you can ask your agent if they can make an exception. My 1st Burmese maid was also very lazy. She'll never work if I went out. Then she smashed up my kids' wooden bench trying to climb over the wall to talk to neighbour's maids. So I sent her back in less than 1 month and they allowed it without penalty.

I would tell her clearly my standards and expectation. It is nothing wrong to be firm as long as we are fair. Don’t take in the frustration and have sleepness nights. If she still tidah apa, fire her!

Also, take that hp away and tell the agent off. I agree with the others that you can request for a change and not have to wait a month. By the time you process through it is already a month.

Oct 7 is a long time if she doesn’t shape up or you ship her out before that. She may end up snoozing on your bed!

Wow… It’s been a stressful day with this 10 days old maid. My neighbour call me and said that my burmese maid has been sneaking out when I am not at home. When I ask her she admits and claim that she went to buy medicine as she has severe stomach pain. She said she when out about three hours. I ask her where she got the money to gout as she is only 10 days old and how she knows the way out as i am staying in private estate. She was silence and said that the agent is aware that she has medical issues and force her to work to clear her loan. She said she want to go back … I called the agent and make the maid speak and tell the agent that she is not fit and I send her back to agent. I really frustated with this agent as they have not given me her WP or passport and worse case her contact with me was only 18 months as her passport will expire in 18 months. Now, I have no confident with this agent but they refuse the refung the agency fees that I paid to them and force me to take another maid. But I dont want to take with them as they are really liars…how can they give me a medical case maid that has been transfereed more than three times. Is there any where to get my money back. I paid close to SGD3000 that is 400 maid agency fees 350 for insurance and the remainde is the maids loans. The agent lady is an arrogant women that is super liar…

Oh dear! Another tactic to use on the agent is to tell them u dont want to hire maid anymore cos u cannot take the stress. Wait for the maid to transfer and demand a refund. I have seen people doing it. If not go to the agency and make noise until they cannot do business. If u have the time do it everyday and talk to their potential client until they cannot tahan. :evil:

Threaten to report to MOE. Ask them how to take another maid if u do not intend to employ maid anymore and you will be hiring part time cleaner instead. But u must be willing to forfeit the agent fees. As for the insurance part, u have to check with the insurance company see if they offer refund or not.
