They not only do not say sorry when did wrongs or damaged employer's things, but also won't say 'thank you' when employer nice to them.

I brought my Burmese maid to Peninsula Plaza to remit money. Cos it's her first time remit money and she not familiar in spore so DH and I drove her there and I even waited with her until the shop opens. Yet not even a 'thank you' from her. Maybe she thinks it's her rights that I shld do all these for her.

Yes, I definitely agree that Burmese maids have a lot of pride. All my 4 had difficulties learning as they feel that they know more than us and never felt that they were wrong when they damaged and break things in the house. No Sorry!

Sorry and thank u is not in their vocab. They are also rude n hv no respect too.... my last 2 were taught to say sorry and tk u but those words are seldom used even tho they were taught, must be their low education and bad upbringing.

I thot MOM requires the fdw to hv at least 8 yrs of education and be age 23. I wonder why MOM bother to implement all these rules and not bother to check b4 issuing the w/p. They dont bother to go for the agent that bring in unqualified fdws in and give us a hotline to complain should we find out the maid is underage. Which employer is going to compain and risk loosing the help they need and $$ too. :rotflmao:

Ya la! No hotline for us. And no compensation for being cheated.
Actually sorry and thank was in the vocab of my maid when she first arrived. So loud some more whenever she apologised and said thank you. Now after 4 months - only blank look. At least she still runs ahead and opens door for me.

A friend of mine has a Brumese maid who would simply sweep all the dust and dirt under the carpets. I found mine ex-maid also the same. You'll be amazed when you turn over the carpet!!!.....obviously that also caused scratches on my floor as she drags the carpet around with fine grains of dirt attached.

Well, if you can't live without them....then will just have to close both eyes. Quality Burmese maids are hard to find.

Often felt this way about mine sad to say - :frustrated:  :slapshead: :stompfeet: :scratchhead: :yikes: 😢

Well, if u wanna take a mynmar and u want someone with some experience, then got to settle for one that has completed 2 yrs…of course u must not rely on the agents recommendation ,passport would hv been renewed… check the passport to see whether done a few months or 2 yrs.

Alot of mynmars hv been sent back after their loan due to some reason, they come back after 3 months claiming to be an ex- spore and agent price them as high as 450 cos they have some english. If they are good the agent and employer would hv recommended a new employer instead of going home. Most of them that come back after 8 or 10 months in spore normally hv handphones, these are the ones that are very sociable with lots of spore contacts.

Totally agree with moonee. Actually if these Burmese can do their job well, I don’t see any problem giving them hp and off day. But the problem is sometimes they cannot even do a good housekeeping job, can’t cook and can’t care for young babies but yet demand to have hp and off day. Ridiculous, I think!!
