According to my DS, the HCL-section A is really tough. He lost marks in Chemistry and Geography as he mentioned he did not answer the right key words that the teacher is looking for. For Maths, he lost marks due to carelessness. Physics and Biology have not given back.
Yes, i totally agree HCL section A is unfairly dificult.
Physics and bio have been returned-failed Physics, A1 for bio.
I also failed chem. -
I'm an old boy from Maris Stella, from the batch 1991-1994
Much had changed since I last went near it, haha! Has the swimming pool and track that I've been donating for 4 yrs during my days there finally been built? haha

From what I gathered from the 2 feedback, only the HCL and perhaps Physics are tough?? I hope it is a transition issue for my DS. Afterall it is the 1st time many of them come face to face with Physics and Bio...CuriousHippo:

I think it's just the printing process. I've singlets that are lighter in the blue shades, while some are darker. Perhaps one reason is that after washing, the blue part fades off. I don't think that's any difference, unless the system had changedI''ve seen some students wearing a different PE Singlet. Theres two different singlet now, one is with the dark blue close to black rim, there's another one with the blue rims.
Who can wear the blue rim singlet? Why is there such a difference?

Understand that previously, Maris Stella has Golf as one of their CCAs but I think from 2013 onwards, this CCA was not offered. Anyone know the reasons? Thanks.

According to the principal, the school is emphasizing more on team-based CCAs to help the students bond. Golf is not a team-based CCA which is why it was cancelled. -

Because i've just visited the Shanghai School Uniforms at Bras Basah and there were obviously two different colour of singlets, asked the auntie there but she couldn't give me a answer.[/quote]It could be that the lower sec wears the lighter coloured ones, and the upper sec wears the darker ones.

Can I check with any of you whether I am correct that for sec1, History will start from term 3 and Geograohy syllabus will finish end term 2? Also to ask will there be SA2- year end exam, for Geography? If yes, which will mean DS has to revise Geography again after no more lessons for 3rd to 4th term?
