Ha, school reopening in another 2 days time. I wonder how well you have prepared for yr kids psle.

You are not wrong. The kids who have exemption from MT usually end up at an advantage and do fairly well in the end.

I have friends who applied for exemption as late as a few weeks before the PSLE!

Oh, you mean, can apply for exemption so late? What are their reasons? I heard from my MOE teacher friend that only those who miss P1 in Singapore (i.e. overseas) will be approved by MOE for MT exemption?

I suppose if the kid can do well in MT, then NOT having exemption is actually more advantageous right? Since I heard that having a good score on MT paper actually boost the T-score than an equivalent good score on, say Math or Science?

Can a student apply for MT exemption, say at P2, then request for retraction or reinstatement at P6?

Missing P1 will be granted exemption? Really? but I heard that it's a minimum of 2 years' absence before MT exemption will be granted. :?

yes , i knew that all 4 subjects carry equal weightage.

My query is , as i am starting the revision of science for my p6 son… do i need to concentrate on all the topics in science in equal importance like to stat from diversity of p3 or give more importance for p6 topics like interaction …
as we have limited time i donot want to waste time if it carries less marks.

All the topics from primary 3 to primary 6 are equally important. Your child should revise the topics thoroughly from primary 3 onwards. Do not just focus on the primary 6 topics.
