AMK hub ....
Serangoon Gardens and Serangoon Central NTUC too small. We go to the one at AMK Hub now, so convenient, go down the escalator from the interchange, shop and hop up the escalator again to catch a bus home.autumnbronze:
Serangoon Gardens will also have ntuc, but i think it may be 'Finest ntuc fairprice'. or maybe the one at the mega mall, aiyah, not sure, too many things happening ard the area now.
Currently shop at Bishan ntuc. Sometimes at gardens. Don't like to go to the one at serangoon ave 3 cuz its small, always so crowded and the queue can make me :faint:
Have recently discovered a wholesale vege/fish mkt at Serangoon central. They are open until 1pm. V v gd selection, can buy one week worth of vege + onion + garlic + tomatoes etc for more than three pple for about $10 to $12 inclusive of these big big asparagus

The vege/fish market at Serangoon Central? You mean the current 'market' near Shop n Save and MacDonalds there?
Yah, I used to go there too. But oso v v crowded leh ....
Wah the queue cannot tahan lah ....
But I have to admit, they have a huge array of stuff

Well, I think it is crowded mainly because it is such a big branch and we can get everything we need at one go? That is one reason we like to shop there, so convenient, be it public transport or range of goods available!AMK hub ....

I go to the market at Hougang Avenue 1, nearer for me.
My maid complained that some stalls not very honest with the weighing. Must be careful. -

Maybe your maid went to the wrong stalls and they think because she's a maid, is a good victim to cheat? Some stalls are like that. So far, I do not have any problem, I always go to the same stall be it for fish, meat, veg etc, so very familiar with them. I do not patronise stalls that I have never bought things from before. -

Ya, fellows can be rough and tough, but DH is the v frdly sort can make frds with anybody and everybody. So he will target until he thinks they are closing up and go. Because they want to clear, they will let go at a gd px, then bring to PIL's hse and whack
I pass by that temp fruit stall sometimes, but dare not buy from them, don't know honest or not. :? I am quite particular about where I buy my durians. Most times we would go to Geylang area to get our fix, though we do go to 717 once in a while.
I don't know much abt durians cuz I can only eat like 1 piece, but from what my DH says, theirs are pretty gd too.
Yah, I know Upper Serangoon SC quite well. And yes, we used to buy the Durians from there too. So they shifted to Highland. Will let DH know lah.... -
autumnbronze:
Oops, it is 717 that is at Highland Centre, not the temp fruit stall outside the former Nippon Paint Shop.

As for jogging ....
I am now trying to climb stairs .... I mean my block of flats stairs
Reason being I don't time to go over there frequently, only on some sundays, but yah sure, anytime you feel like having a jogging date, let me know ....
I used to jog at the Nanyang jc track until the P decided to bar easy access to the track ie lock the side gate, closing time of track being pushed to earlier and earlier. In fact, when I went to Serangoon track, saw many familiar faces from nanyang - seems they all shifted there  -

yup yup, got that the first time ..

NYJC and Serangoon Stadium is quite a distance from each other, where exactly are you located? Erm, I don't mean the exact address, but since you mentioned the new shopping centre, Serangoon Central, Stadium area, I figured that you are near the Interchange, but now that you are talking about NYJC, I am a bit :?I used to jog at the Nanyang jc track until the P decided to bar easy access to the track ie lock the side gate, closing time of track being pushed to earlier and earlier.
