DS used to be in ICR katong, i had withdraw him to ICR Simei which he learned for 1 yr
reason being, the teacher resigned without informing, and they assigned a Indian relief teacher. After 3 weeks, I asked them they cant give me any confirmation whether there is any permanent teacher. The Indian relief teacher wasn't what I expected and on the 3rd lesson, first time DS doesnt want to go into the class. Later I found out is because he doesnt understand her english.

So we withdraw him to ICR Simei. We are lucky to have teacher lilian. she's a very caring teacher. I ever heard a parent (from china) said that her DS (Pri 1) scored 20+ in his english, after being taught by teacher lilian his marks went up to 70+ and she even bought a big present for her on teacher's day.

If you are staying in the east, you should try ICR Simei

Hi Jessica, thanks for your feedback. When did you withdraw DS from Katong? I was there enquiring several mths ago and asked for the teachers available there but I didnt hear an Indian name. All are native speaking teachers...

During the time where your DS was still at Katong, did they start and leave punctually?

I was told Katong is not but heard comments abt Sengkang that they are ok, ie start and leave on the dot.

I have a fren whose kid is also at ICR and she told me she is particularly not happy with the fact that the class always start 5mins later and ends at least 10 mins earlier. She has since withdrawn her son from the centre.


Anyone has the same issue at other centres?

My kid is in sk branch icr level. So far I dun face this problem but I do see sm teachers dismissin 5 mins b4 lesson end. Think it depends very much on the individual teacher. For my case I always need to wait 5-10 mins b4 they release the class.

Welcome to the icr level!

My kid is under teacher philip n i like him alot as compared to the previous native teacher in prp. He seemed alot more fun n is able to engage the kids really well. His class always end up later than the expected time.

My kid is in book 4/5 I can't rem. This program has built up my gal's confident ALOT :). Now she is so into readin out loud herself n I hardly get a chance to read her a story. Unless the more difficult ones of course. She knows she can read so she goes all the way out to try readin on her own. I think the program is quite worth it IF ur main aim is to make him be an independent reader

But the returns will come if u practise the readin w him more

Anyone has feedbacks for ICR at Simei Eastpoint or Tampines branch? Is the branch well organised & how are the teachers, particularly the N2 classes?
