Personally I think we still need to go thru what they have learnt for their enrichment classes, not just ICR.

My DS joined at the later term of 2010 and got promoted to ICR stage 1 after 2mths. He enjoyed the 1st 2 mths and not so after that.

He complaint that ICR gets boring by the week. What he did is read, read and read in the class. I didnt get to speak to his teacher nor I was informed of the PTC as the teacher slotted in a little paper somewhere in his bag that I couldnt even find until the day he left the centre !! He was at stage 4 when I withdrew him out.

Its true ICR is a good programme and I guess it really depends on the centres and how passionate the teacher is. I cant find in his teacher though…

Which centre did you send your son to? I am thinking of getting my nephew to enroll in ICR for some extra help as his english seems to be getting weaker afte he came back from China.

              Hihi,

My DS is currently attending his 3rd lesson in PRP at Woodlands, I’m wondering how often will the teachers review on the students’ progress? Or do we need to personally catch hold of their teacher to ask personally?

As I really dont know what was taught during the class, when i asked DS, he said something like flash cards, read story books…

              Can anyone please enlighten me?

              Thanks

the teacher will give a progress update through paper every end of the term. However, you can always check with the teacher before or after the lesson.
For PRP, my gal was given a workbook. Every week, there will be one page of homework i.e. writing an alphabet and the students can draw any object which starts with that particular alphabet. During the lesson, like what your DS shared with you, flash cards, read story books; my gal also told me that they sang songs.

I think not all centre practise the same...mine din hv any documented updates after every term ends... 🤷 :scratchhead: ...for what I know teacher will make the kids do a test on the last day of course...other than tat I'll ask his teacher as n when I feel like checking with him ds's progress

My ds's ex-classmate now oso doing creative writing..his teacher can even mark his spellings correct but in fact he spelled wrongly. :spank: ...this was shared by his mother while we were chatting...

parents, pls be more involved in ur dd/ds 's enrichment lessons...
