      lovinglife:

Your son will be completed book 5 in Nov if he is currently in book 2. Book 6 is also called ICR Advanced Stage. 6 months course to completion. Dec is school holiday, the centre will be off for a month. He will only start book 6 in Jan 2014. It is not compulsory to complete whole course (book 1 to 6 - 1 year course) thus you may withdraw him at any term.
thks lovinglife for sharing! may i know what is covered in Book 6? (if i understand you correctly, Book 6 itself will take 6 months from Jan - Jun?)

i also heard comments that ICR will not be good enough for pri schools. need to go Lorna Whiston or Learning Lab. being a kiasuparent, anyone can share your experience?

Book 6 is an exercise book containing basic grammar, sentence structure & spelling list. Every week, the child will read a small unmarked booklet comprising of 4 stories and 5 comprehension questions to be answered. More spelling words. 1 chapter story book was given upon class commencing for the kids to read out in class.

For Parkway branch, do we continue the lesson next week at Parkway Office Tower or go to Parkway Centre #10? If all students are being transferred to their nearest centre, does it mean we are still under ICR and if we decide to stay put at old location (now become My English School), we have to withdraw from ICR first? By the way, we did not receive the letter nor any notification from the centre itself, until we chanced upon this thread.

My gf call the ICR Parkway new number yesterday to find out what happen. She also didn’t receive any letter from the centre. They say parkway parade no longer operate under ICR. Student can be transfer over and reg and dep. but the new centre will no longer have our girl existing teachers and class will suspend for 2 weeks because they are still organizing for teachers. For me, I’ll continue with MES for 1 term. The teacher already know my girl progress and if I move to a new place it’s a brand new teacher and environment. But if I really dun like then I start with ICR next year.
