      Monster Mummy:
I think that during my son's batch is already not allocated according to t-score and no TD class. Not quite sure whether it is new principal. This year is also parents been informed all the month by month school activites. No worry. Your child will enjoy the school life.

Thanks for your information, Monster Mummy. I guess it doesn't matter what practice the school adopt, it is still up to the kid to work their way out at the end of the day. My kid seems quite enjoy the new stage in the new school these two days. So yes, happiness matters the most. πŸ˜‰

My DD enjoyed her studies at CCHMS thoroughly. School teachers are truly dedicated, be it chinese or malay teachers although it is a chinese school. Her lit teacher was a malay male whom she highly respected as he is kind, impart a whole lot of knowledge and made lessons enjoyable. I was also impressed by how much my DD' s chinese and Higher Chinese improved although she did not have HCL in her pri sch! Was in a dilemma choosing AHS or CCHMS as we were residing in Bedok, which is closer to AHS but finally decided to go for CCHMS instead after attending both open house. Am glad I did and went ahead to move closer to CCHMS. As for cut off pt, during my DD's enrolment year, the cut-off was only 239 and I overheard a parent at the G.O asking for withdrawal, but the admin was kind enough to ask the parent to reconsider as she pointed to the whole stack of forms at a corner under waiting list. Am glad the parent did not do so, as coincidentally, I saw her again on the first day of sch! They have a new principal since beginning of 2016 though, so hope the culture remains the same πŸ™‚

\"O\" results gonna be released tomorrow!! Good luck to all!

P.S CCHMS refers to their main school, while CCH refers to Yishun branch.

How do you tell your DD Chinese and HCL improve in just 10 days time?
My friend DD went CCHMS and she loves it as well.

10 days ??? Oh haha, nope my DD entered CCHMS in 2013(Sec 1) and graduated last year, 2016! :rahrah: No worries for students without higher chinese in pri level, the school teachers are really helpful and patient, especially for my DD who doesnt like chinese, not to mention higher chinese!!! O levels results were released 2 days back and my DD managed to get 8A1s( Including Chinese taken when she was in Sec 3) and B3 for her higher chinese!! No regrets going to this chinese school! πŸ˜‚

grow and glow, I totally agree with you. The teachers are very nurturing and encouraging indeed.

In fact, 4 years back, we went to AHS open house, I was asked to key in my DD's PSLE aggregate score upon registration before touring of the school started πŸ˜“ πŸ˜‚

Final decision was CCHMS after gg to these 2 open house πŸ˜„

Hi. What happen to CCH students who are unable to cope with HCL? Do they get to take Chinese as 2nd language?

In Chung cheng, all students take HCL. They will sit for O level Chinese in sec 3. If they cannot cope, they can do Chinese CL2 in sec 4.
But honestly, chung cheng's chinese teachers are very nurturing and encouraging. The teachers see it as their job to teach Chinese well. So it is rare that the students cannot cope with HCL.

Unless you want to consider nearby Anglican High? This sch is on the other extreme. I went to its open house. To do HCL, students must pass a diagnostic test??!! :whut: Isnt this telling parents he school discourages HCL? To think this is Chinese background school too. :scared:

How did the 2016 Sec 4 cohort fare for their GCE O Level? Can someone share the L1B5 mean score and the passing rate, please?

                Thanks.

Hi tweetyjing and peachbubble, the link seemed to be removed, but here it goes :

The eligibility percentage for poly is 100% and JC percentage is 94.3% as compared to 2015’s 91.8%.
99.1% of the students scored 5 β€œO” passes which is the same as 2015 batch.
