yeah mathsparks, you don’t know how strong the SCGS culture can be…it can overrule the IP. Besides most SCGS kids have backup plans if they cannot get into JCs, they are generally the affluent lot.

No offence to anyone but there is a funny saying going around…
RGS girls end up being "career women"
SCGS girls end up being "tai tai"s.

To some extent the SCGS girls are like the ancient ladies, will be given a holistic curriculum to learn and become a well-desired "fair lady" whereas the charging RGS girls will always want to be Mu-Lan.

Now back to cmomc point where not comparing apples to apples…
I think she means the standard of RV and SCGS is different even if they have common COP of 251. RV admits all COP 251 kids whereas SCGS has a mixed of COP 251 and affiliation of COP 200 kids. So in that sense, it is hard to compare the standard of the 2 schools and put them side by side for IP consideration. But phankao is right, if SCGS can do it like ACSI where it has both ‘O’ level track and ‘IP’ track(since the COP variance is so huge), then it is possible to consider the ‘IP’ possibility.

looks like ks2me is confusing me further. my qn very simple la. why choose scgs when you can go to ip..but i gather from you and 2ppaamm, reasons are the affluent folks don need to worry abt jc entry, girls' will be girls and better to stay in a school that inculcates and celebrates \"feminism\" :?

ya, i also heard the one about scgs girls being trained for life as tai-tais.

            mathsparks:
just wondering, since scgs and rv have the same cutoff 251, wat's the reason for the girls in scgs not moving to ip program in rv? other than distance? girls' school? prestige? :?

ermm, i dont mean rv is less prestigious. just that diff folks view prestige differently.
haha...mathsparks, I know where the confusion is now... I read vito and phankao's reply to you on why SCGS not going into IP... blah blah blah.. But now I re-read and realise your original question is in bold.
