This is my DD1 waiting for her school bus. Sorry to mask out her face as DH doesn't want to show her pic.
Did went to her school with DH yesterday to see how she perform. Was glad that she is so independent. Able to buy her food during recess with the help of the sister buddy. -
ks2me:
Your ds looks VERY TALL for P1!! You sure you enrol him in the right year?
Actually some kids are tall nowadays not sure is it due to milk. My P2 son is as tall as his P4 cousin and fatter. He is probably at least 1.4mtr now???? I always imagine that he would be the tallest in class BUT I was wrong. There were 2 other boys who were taller than him :!:
Due to his height, people expect him to be \"mature\" etc... but he is still a little boy at heart and moreover he is Quarter 3 baby. Also, one disadvantage is tall kids must sit at the last round otherwise they will be blocking the rest. Due to that, I also asked the teacher to ask him more questions so he don't start to dream in class. -
Wah !!! Many cute photos !!!
It is always worst than big movie star’s press conference during P1. I see parents armed with big cameras AND video cameras ! -
buds:
Sure got wan kiasimom..
But i hope we aren't the ones
who kept asking whether they
drank water anot?
tamarind... at DD2's school you
can hear strings of questions in
one breath when they eventually
get the kid's attention.
1. Shee shee oredi anot?
2. Your teacher good anot?
3. Got do work?
4. Remember to wash hands hor..
5. Dun sit with notty children hor..
6. Remember arh, must be good boy..
I thought most kids would have gone to kindergarten or childcare center for 2 years or more, why are parents still so anxious ?
My girl was surprised to see me, because I told her at first that mommy may not be able to rush to see her. When she saw me, she told me to go home and leave her alone

Its different. For my gal, the school compound is huge! It's a single session combined with primary and seconday. She has to walk to the classroom herself so I guess it can be overwhelming.
Parents are also anxious because they worry about acaedemic results? that's my guess.......... -
I think it’s the next milestones in their life that makes parents so anxious.
Personally, I think it’s an adjustment for them :
1) Moving from a class size of 20 (K2) to 30 (P1)?
2) Moving from an environment with less than 100 kids? to many times more
3) Moving to formal education where they now have to sit many tests and exams for years to come
4) Moving towards independence where they have to manage their own money and take the public transport by themselves?
For me, my P2 moving to P3 this year is like another milestone and adjustment. Eg. From PM to AM session and she has to get use to waking up early. Additional subject (science) and immediately she feels the workload increasing as compared to P2. Told her the honeymoon period is over… -

I wish I know if the magic pill for growth is in the milk... What milk does he drink? You must have very tall genes too. I have met quite a few kids that look 2 years older than their actual age due to their height.

Yes I agree...the excitement exist because the school is many times larger and the cohort is about 5 times bigger! :lol:I think it's the next milestones in their life that makes parents so anxious.
