hi. i am thinking that you’re not asking on behalf of your daughter but instead, for yourself. (you gave it away)

i sought opinions from my cousins who are in the working field now. one was from hwachong, the other from temasek. both said that they regretted not going to ACJC because apparently, ACJCians are well-connected and most of them are very well-off. so if you were to enter ACJC, the chances of you making it far in the future will be high. working is not all about academics and brains but relies on how wide ur network is. this will open many doors to you as opportunities are aplenty.

temasek is very academically-inclined… as you will already know.
anderson is quite mugger-rish. i don’t see any energy in their open houses. as you have mentioned, they are strong in their sciences.

all the best. i live in the east and score a 6 net. i’m putting TJC as my first choice.

i will recommend you put ACJC since it’s near for you.

Hey isadoralizzy! 🙂 are you from nj? I'm considering it as one of my choices & if possible could you share how it is like there, thank you!

jesstingwugui, I think you should try for rj or hc, I'm sure you'll be able to get in through appeals, you did score quite well :D. As for rj/ hc, might want to choose based on distance & convenience. If you're planning on appealing, you should put the one you'd like to get in most as first choice for sure. Good luck!! 🙂
Erm yes, I'm from nj. The schools' facilities good, i guess... obviously, you can't compare to those in universities. The teachers are quite dedicated - it really depends on who your teachers are really. But because, i'm actually quite close to my JH teachers, I can ask them to help me too 🙂 Most of the teachers are friendly.

The downside is that nj is really strict with their rules - but of course, we can always find the loopholes.
The student body is great, people are friendly and everyone will willingly help each other out. There will definitely be the quiet ones, but they are also many who are quiet outspoken. And if you can make an impression (a good one, obviously), you'll get a lot of opportunities 🙂

You've probably heard that the students mug alot? Honestly, I don't really see that prevalence in our cohort - it's mostly the mainstream students

hi. from what i’ve heard CJC has many bgr and that explains the high abortion rate… (not sure if this applies for the present). many are from the catholic schools (st pats, chij, sac etc) and they are very flirty from my POV.

this is only based on my opinion.

1.5 hours not worth the travel. ACJC and AJC, the former are the play play types, they do well because they’re rich enough to afford tuition (apparently). AJC, they just mug. Their mugging standards comparable to NJC hahahahaha xD

I'm now pondering over whether to place hwachong or raffles as my first choice since it really does matter... But distance wise, raffles is definitely more convenient. As for appealing, the vice principal at raffles told us that to appeal we need to have something thats really special and outstanding apart from academics since everyone applying for raffles is really bright. But my cca achievements aren't very outstanding and i dont have any talents to boast of...

Man! how i wish i just got an A1 for my language... Everything would be so much easier:(
Oh btw, there are 12 choices in the JAE Exercise but im still quite unsure of what to put as my other 10 choices... A little help here!:P 😓

hi, i feel that the chances of you succeeding in the appeal is low because of your CCA point. if you were to have 1/2 bonus points for CCA it’ll be easier even w/o HMT. you could try but the chances are very slim. be prepared to not be accepted even if you appeal into nyjc.

A LOT of people put NYJC as their top few choices. according to NYJC, 4000 people put NYJC as their top 3 choices in a certain year. many who qualify for NYJC also chooses to go NYJC coz of it’s vibrant culture.

                  all the best.

Hello. I have just received my Olevel results and there are many questions I would like to ask. My results are as follows: Pure Geog and German B4, Chem and Physics B3, Eng and Amath and Hcl and cl and combined humans A2, emath A1. Results are a disappointment:(

i got raw score 12, net score 8. I have been wanting to go to acjc arts stream but acjc arts stream COP is 7. If I try applying for acjc arts stream, would I stand any chance? Or isit not worth applying at all.
If I appeal will I stand a chance?

With my net score 8, would I be able to get into ajc science stream? or is it very risky to put it as my first choice? I got an A1 for emath and A2 for Amath and have a great interest for math so I hope the challenging math won’t be a problem.

Many of my friends around me are troubled about choosing between ajc and nyjc. Which do you recommend? What attracts me about nyjc is their hybrid choices…

I would be grateful if someone replies soon And Thank you!

Hi i am fixed as to whether i should head for AJC or NYJC.

                      Results:
                      English:B3
                      Combined Humanities:B4
                      Geography:A1
                      Emaths:A1
                      Amaths:A1
                      Physics:A2
                      Chemistry:A2
                      Chinese:B3

                      Raw score:10
                      Cca points:2 bonus pts
                      Affiliation:NYJC 2 bonus pts

I am interested in the science course and i heard that even if you meet AJC’s cop of 8 for science course, they MIGHT still reject you. Should i risk it or should i go NYJC? AJC tends to produce better results and their teachers really prepares you well from what i have heard.

Also, i am interested in a scholarship after JC. If i were to go AJC and the demand for my desired subject combination is too much, will they look at your net score or will they look at your individual o level grades and see if you are eligible for the H2 subject and try to slot you into a class? I would like to take H2 PCME.

Thanks in advance for your help~
