:thankyou: Would appreciate your update.
Correction on waterplay @BP... the teacher @CCK mentioned they will only be playing with water and not swim inside the water. -

Hi
Most parents would look for non aircon⦠afraid sick children will spread the germs easily. -
Hi drumstick
Have you visited BP branch? Which branch you like? -
chatelaine, drumstick,
I prefer non air con cc too
-
Hi
I haven't got time to visit the Bp branch. But called and they said no vacancy, also they allowed viewing only on sat. I want to see the situation when the class is on- going.
cck branch would be nearer to my place. So still can't decide. Cck branch is quite ok but understand tat their principal just joined and is not montesorri trained le. -
drumstick,
yes, BP cfm no vancancy now and they only allow viewing on sat unlike cck can view anytime on wkdays or sat. are the branches under diff mgmt? are you aware? u live in CCK? near lot 1? -
Hi chatelaine, not really 'most parents' prefer non-aircon.
I personally prefer and insist to have one with aircon. If
for children who stay full-day especially... it is definitely
more comfortable. My children are eczemic and will
develop a very uncomfortable rash when they are too
hot and sweaty especially around the joints... nape of
their necks... etc. When they scratch, it opens up pores
that are very painful. Hence, aircon environment which
is clean will prevent occasions of such rashes... and also
directly means; we will use less of the steroidic creams
on their skin, which is not advised for prolonged use.
Children falling sick is normal especially the 1st few mths
attending school... ANY school for that matter. Not just
limited to only a childcare environment.
The centre's stand on not receiving children with fever &
very bad runny nose, diarrhoea, stomach flu, (etc) is also
as important. Cannot be lenient when it comes to centre's
maintenance of hygiene as well. Teachers should always
enforce cleanliness of self with all the children under her
care... ensure they wash their hands with soap... show
them how to wash their hands properly... how to blow into
a tissue (not just wipe with back of hand)... how to cover
mouth when sneezing & coughing... (etc)
It is not just up to the centre alone to maintain cleanliness
and hygiene standards. This is a social responsibility. Each
and everyone of us plays a part.
In the course of my work, i have came across many
inconsiderate parents who can give us a hard time
when it comes to keeping their very ill children at
home. Heart pain sometimes seeing the children
being dragged outta bed with red and watery eyes,
drippy nosies... and the parents insist that their
children are not sick.
Upon testing of temperature,
when children are found to be above the normal body
temperature (children indeed have fever) and told to
bring their children home to recuperate and recover...
they will give us black face.
It is the onus of the centre to ensure so... this helps to
avoid our other healthy children from being infected. So,
parents do need to be mindful of this as well. Our children's
health within centres is a shared responsibility. -
Bp is the hq. Cck is franchise. Maybe tats y bp is more popular. But not sure if curriculum is the same. Me prefer to go down during sch hours then can get a better feel. Me stay at yew tee and boy will be taking sch bus. So prefer somewhere nearer so that the journey not so long.
