        buds:
If you read up more on the Montessori Phonics method, there are 3 colour schemes in Montessori Phonics. Pink being the 1st level where introduction to single letter sounds and coverage of 3 letter phonetic words are being covered. Next is blue scheme, where the blends (double/triple consonant blends) are being introduced and finally the green scheme where the phonograms will be introduced..

        Hi buds,
Do you know of Montessori own set of readers to use along with the pink scheme where 3 letter phonetic words introduced to the child? I tried to check with the teacher but she only told me about the large moveable alphabets used. Then i went to ask the asst centre mgr, she told me there is a set of readers the teachers used which are meant for all montessori schools but she didn't show me a sample. :scratchhead:

i actually had bought P&J 1a,b earlier as i thought its time to start her on reading. but after much thought and reading here which resulted in me discovering my gal hadnt know the letter names. Thus my so many questions on what to do after after single sounds. So does it mean i can do the readers with my gal while teaching her the letter names now? before i go shopping for the readers you recommended, should i try out P&J now to see if she likes them?

Yes, go ahead with Peter & Jane. 😄 I used them as well with my girls, tho
they didn't go too far as they could read very well way before they were
halfway on P&J. Dun waste what you have. Use them. 😄 Sight word readers
can be done simultaneously when learning phonics... no worries. :hugs:

great! i feel assured i won't be rushing the readers on her now. so am i right to say that for my gal now, i can do the following with her all at same time?
        - introducing 26 letter names (she now can remember more than half, except letter e, i, j,q,u,v,w,y)
        - continue reinforcing the single letter sounds to her, have been asking her about 1st letter sound of words on a adhoc basis..
        - start 3 letter word building with her?
        - start reading the readers with her?
        buds:
Take heart that with patience comes inexplicable rewards. Montessori way
of learning has benefitted many children, albeit it may not be the fastest
way to learn... to see results, but it sure is extremely fun and multi-sensory
on top of it being a concrete way of embedding concepts to young children. :celebrate:
i need to cultivate this

 wished i had gone for the course b4 i became a mum. Buds, do let me know if you ever have lessons hor. Thanks a zillion!

You know you can have free course here with buds online. Yes! If i
do offer lessons, you'd be the first i invite okay? 😉

yes yes! thank you for the online course here 😄 TIA then!

Hi, any latest feedback on this centre? I have not visited the place but from website, they offer half day to full day programs so it is more of a child care operation right?

Please share how a typical half day program goes. We will send ds to class at around 9am only so will he miss much by starting 2hrs later?

haha, nope, I have not visited it. Teacher turnover in CC nowadays is so high, so IMO, a visit to see see look look won’t help much. You are also looking for CC in JJK area ah?
