Arielmermaid, I agree w u that the tests r important. So far, I only did hair tissue mineral analysis, allergy test, urine test analysts and organic acid testing.

For past year, I tried 100% gfcf but failed. It was really tough. I manage to reduce most of his gluten intake. took away his milk n replaced it w green smoothies n enzyme water. There was improvement but no large.
After one month with Dan, his thick green mucous stopped. It has bothered him daily for a year n pd couldnt even help him. His eye contact improves, more attentive n able to imitate, more expressive n playful. I am hoping that he can start mb12 shots soon n praying hard it works on him.
Currently he is taking magnesium, calcium n zinc ( liquid form ). Probiotic n enzyme complete dpp iv ( powder ). guna for liver detox. Ch77 for chelation. Fish oil.
May I know how old is your son, his progress n what is he taking now?

lavendery, you have a DAN? In Singapore? Care to share more?
I'm seeing Dr Kay at Paragon since March till now. He will usually request us to do basic test like hair test to find out the toxic level and mineral levels, IgG blood test to find out the food allergy, stool test to find out the specific types of bacterials and yeast etc.

Along the way, depending on the child's needs, he will prescrib different types of supplements. It is also very common to fight with yeast and nasty bacteria, so usually he will put my girl on antifungal and antibacterial protocol.

My girl just started her MB-12 shots on beginning of Sept and it also happened to coincident with my girl starting to become more focus, surrounding awareness and more vebal. However i also did antifungal and antibacterial protocol at the same time. So i also do not know which protocol is exactly helping her speech.

So usually when my girl starts to loose her eye contact, verbal stim, sensitive to sound, walk around in her class, giggle at night or line up things in straight line, i will know its time to start her on antifungal / antibacterial protocol. I'm presently on agressive antifungal protocol with yeast enzymes.

Biomedical helps to address their biology issues hence in a way it helps to lessen the autistic traits. It usually focus more on the gut, mito dysfunction, adrenal, oxalate ... then finally to chelation when the body is ready to detox.

            Mummies

            Need your advise.

Currently, my boy attends mainstream cc on 4 days of the week cos one of the days are taken up by Therapy and EIPIC. Now, I have the choice of putting him in a private EIPIC but schedule wise, it means he will have to miss 2 days of mainstream cc instead of the one day currently.

If you are me, what would you choose? to let him go for his private EIPIC and miss two days of mainstream cc or stick with the current arrangement?
What do you think is more impt? to go to a better EIPIC to learn and overcome his ASD issues or more chances to mingle in a mainstream environment?

Interesting discussion on DAN. Keep it coming, cos there's not much info on this.

I did GFCF diet for my daughter when she was first diagnosed. It was quite strict and lasted for a year plus, that we even brought our own pots and pans to do our own cooking during holidays. Tough though, and I find that she missed out on mealtime interactions with her two sisters.

Along the way, as she progressed and developed, we decided to let go. But truth be told, we will never know whether she progressed because of her diet or due to other interventions and her growing up.

                    lavendery:

That's a nice word. Round to replace fat. But usually i only teach her round for shape. Till now my girl still mix up \"How, Who, Why, Where\" when she is asking questions.

Any ideas how to teach? 🤷
I started off with easy ones such as where, who and what. Places and people tend to be visual and easier for them to grasp.

I am now doing 'why-because' to guide her logical thinking. Just a lot of visual writing on the white board and explaining logic to her. But my girl being rote in learning, is still not independent with logical thinking.

How is usually couple with identifying emotions, 'how does she feel?' cos I am also teaching her to identify emotions of self and others. Actually how is not only limited to that but I have not started on the other 'how's.

lavendery, any safety issues relating to the use of antifungals or antibacterials?

Double E, I am opposite. My daughter only has EIPIC with no mainstream cc and I am worried that she has no exposure in mainstream environment.

I have been actively looking for a mainstream childcare but its really expensive to pay full-day fees and go for a few afternoons. Fees structures are created in such a way that half-day fees are about the same as full-day fees after working mother subsidy so not much point to go for half-day program from fees perspective. Spoke to her EIPIC teacher this morning and she agrees that mainstream environment is important. But if mainstream cc doesnt work out we may try other things such as putting her on other enrichment in mainstream group setting.

Sorry that I have not answered your question, but I really think the mother is in the best position to know how much of EIPIC vs mainstream. There are many factors to consider, and what is the focus for you and your child right now should be one important factor. Also, I have been inspired by the phrase 'let your child have his/her childhood'. Many times we as mothers are anxious to get our children to improve and catch up, actually we should also think about what the child really wants or enjoys.

Tough call, but when I am faced with dilemmas and dont know what else to fall back on, I trust my gut feel at that moment. To me, that's about the best that I can have.

                        my two cents worth.
