What kind of vitamins is able to strengthen muscle ? I think my son muscle is no good that’s y he always fall down -
helplessmum3:
Is he a good eater? Does he eat a wide range of foods? Does he eat meat? There is no single vitamin or supplement that can do wonders. The important thing is that he is eating a good balanced diet. The other thing that builds strength is exercise, so give him plenty of time to walk, run around, use playground equipment etc. If he has particularly weak areas, then you can practise those more. My daughter has very poor coordination and balance, so we had to do a lot of practice on different things over the years - climbing stairs, walking straight lines, jumping, hopping etc. She was 7yo before she could go down stairs without holding the banisters!Mummies.

Slmkhoo,
Yes my son eating good . He love all vegetable brocoli, carrots , corns, onion, garlic, all vegetable , califlower , fruits & fish . Just recently he start to eat meat…
He very lazy to walk . He love to run n jump…
Stairs wise he too need to hold to me or the rims -

If he only just started to eat meat, maybe his muscle development needs a bit more time. Anyway, if he does run and jump, then just let him do more. The more activity he does, the better he will get at judging space and distance and handling his own body. He's only 3, so holding hnnds on stairs is normal.Slmkhoo,

What is walk in line? -
helplessmum3:
Like when the police test of drunk driving - get the child to walk on a line on the floor. It improves their balance. Make it like a game and do it with your son.Slmkhoo

I read that in sensory processing, there are a few systems that are related to gross motor functions such as walking and maintaining balance - vestibular and propioceptive. Vestibular system relates to balance, while propioceptive relates to the sense of one's body parts and limbs in space.
If there is a lack of co-ordination within or among these systems, balance and muscle co-ordination can become an issue. I am not sure what is the exact problem of your child since he can jump or run but tend to fall down when walking. If you have the chance talk to the OT cos this is their area of specialty. There are targeted exercises in these areas to address the problems.
Hope this helps. -
Imeemee,
I already told rainbow about these areas n say that under physiotherapy

Some mummies here recommended the following books on sensory processing disorders:
The Out-of-Syn Child
The Out-of-Syn Child has Fun
Both books are by Carol Stock Kranowitz. You can borrow them from the library.
The first book is organized into different senses and the different sensory systems. If you find the book too technical, maybe zoom into the relevant chapters on balance and read those first. They may be able to provide you with some tips on why certain things happen and how they happen.
The second book provides a lot of activities that you can do to address the sensory issues. Its also organized into the different senses and sensory systems, so you can zoom in on the sections that you need.
Do try it out and see how it can help you while you wait for OT advice in school.
