They have limited slots. So far we only went for few classes due to time constraints (about 10 or 12 lessons last year). If I have the time, I will still let kid go back for leisure art. πŸ™‚ But if he doing seriousart, there are also other schools I find interesting with portfolio prep help provided, which I not sure art zone has a not.

              Hi,

Good news to all who wish to send their children to art classes. Muzart will be opening in December @ Jurong East near JE MRT. Muzart Learning Centre already have 20 outlets overseas and this will be our first outlet in Singapore. Backed by a strong art curriculum, Muzart quickly expand from 4 outlets to over 20 in 3 short years. We will be holding trials soon. Visit our FB page for more updates: https://www.facebook.com/MuzartSingapore or visit http://www.muzart.com.sg

Thanks, jedamum. I intend to let my lower primary girl try out for a year or two, not for portfolio prep. πŸ˜“

Looks like nowadays, the Art Zone CSC branch is only open on Fri (by appt only) and Sat.

Sometimes sat will be closed for events too. They will inform in advance. I like it that I can request no craft work as I only want my kid to draw and paint. They provide all the painting medium, so we no need to bring anything, but mauy post a challenge when u want your kid to reproduce the same piece at home as they may not have the correct type or shade of paint at home

My boy (now p5) was there for about a year when he was in k2. While the part on creative art is good, I find that they are quite lacking in drawing with pencils. The students are trained to visualise, then just take the brush and start painting (or use whatever medium to produce the art work).

But now when I look around, a lot of art (drawing) classes focus on reproducing art work from pictures, etc. There are also some art classes that start with colouring in.... Probably those are the foundation of art skill, but I wonder whether they can nurture creativity.....
