Perhaps u can email the owners of the ranking website(s) to ask what were the factors considered by them?
I understand that every school in Singapore is considered good. However, when it comes to ranking, many people focus on popularity and reviews, especially during the primary school registration period. As a parent, you naturally want the best for your child. I noticed that Cedar Primary, ranked in the 70s, has a 100% acceptance rate at Phase 2C. On the other hand, I'm also considering YangZheng Primary, which is ranked in the 30s.
I'm unsure what factors contribute to the rankings and why some schools are more popular than others. I'm concerned about making the right choice for my first child by selecting Cedar Primary, even though it’s close to our home in Bidadari. I worry about potentially missing out on a better school option, which will also affect the choice for my second child in the future. -

Hearsay JSA program is like an unofficial recruitment drive for Singapore Sports School. Fine if he is completely interested in specializing in TnF for the remainder (and commit to the commute), but if he has no interest in DSA to SSP then i would just let it go (probably choose the rotational sports option).
Hi all. I wanted to send my query to the JSA thread but that thread has been dead for two years now. So I’m posting here as DSA is of secondary relevance to my query.
My son is currently in P5. Studying in Keming and that’s because of travel convenience. At Keming he’s in the Boys Brigade. He loves sports - been training and playing competitive rugby union with an external club for 6 years since he was 4 and been training and playing competitive tennis since 7. On top of that he has done one year of JSA (two terms - softball and track and field). Now we received a strange and unexpected email from the good JSA folks a few days ago. The email is an “Invitation to join the JSA One-year Track and Field programme in the 2nd JSA year” (actual subject of email) asking whether he’d like to forgo two terms of rotational sports and focus on Track and Field for the remainder (one year / two terms) of his JSA programme. Training is at Singapore Sports School which is a bummer due to distance (school in Woodlands). We don’t know how to approach this because TnF has never been in our radar (plan was trial for rugby and tennis at one school, and then rugby for another school; but both comes with own risks/issues: tennis is incredibly competitive and rugby has high injury risk especially in secondary school) and would like to seek opinions/advise especially those with similar experience.
Sooo… has someone been through this ie sports specialisation via JSA before? How does DSA for Track & Field work? There is a call this weekend with the JSA folks (apparently specialisation only for track and field, water polo/flippaball and fencing) but wanted to get perspectives apart from JSA.
I doubt the specialized TnF program will even be good enough to DSA to other schools with. Usually need some medals and unless the program sends them to some high level comps, nah… -
RE: CNA Article - The Big Read: Fuelled partly by youths' anxiety, the internship rat race has unintended effects
Only companies with leaders who are confident in their competency will do this. Either that or they’re rich enough not to need the job.

RE: All About Home Addresses
Since we are sharing stories, let me share what i once overheard during P1 registration (back then it was not online but in-person). Couple raising their voices at the school staff because they had indicated the grandparent’s address for registration (<1km). It was different from the parents’ own IC address, therefore staff queried why. Couple insisted the kid was living with the grandparent, not them. Staff requested they go back and ask the grandparent to make a statutory declaration as a caregiver. I dunno what followed but the school was doing their part to question any suspicious behaviour.
