    • CHECKING IN

      Hi,

      Cheking in, checking in.

Had been reading KSP for awhile. Realise I've forgtton to checkin. Father of 2 sons, 5 and 2 yrs old this year. Had a keen interest in early childhood education and enjoyed reading this forum and the articles from fellow parents and experts. Kudos to KSP.
      :thankyou:

    • RE: Does your child's kindergarten give Homework?

For K1, don’t really matter if there’s homework. Impt is to get the kid to like ‘schooling’. Let our kids have a break, enjoy learning.

Come K2, homework is good prep for P1.

      just my personal opinion. Cheers.

    • RE: Childcare or no Childcare?

Chat with the teacher and see what happens. If you’re still uncomfortable, should withdraw the child else you’ll be ‘haunted’ by the discomfort - having constant doubt (rightfully or wrongly).

      Every child is different.

hehe, just decided to bring my 4yr old for a golf outing where he can just sit in the buggy. Quality time? Not sure but I’m sure he’ll enjoy.

    • RE: Guilty about not spending enough time with my kids

Some can spend whole weekends with the kids and still felt insufficient, while some is proud with just 1x short outing on weekends. The right balance depends on your family support, your children’s needs, finances etc. If I may ask, why do you feel guilty? (besides wanting to spend more time with them) Is it b’cos you think they need better care? You miss out on their growing years? Find the cause and decide what you can/want to do about it. Guilt will harm the relationship with spouse/kids (e.g. over indulgence in them).

We all contribute to the family in different ways. Find your own balance, decide what you want/can do about it then be at peace with the situation. Feeling drives actions, actions drives results.

      cheers!

      hi

any comments on the 7th day adventist church - kindergarten @ Jurong East? I am thinking of enrolling my child in their N1 classes and want to hear some feedback, thanks...
      My opinion:
not too bad. not the best either.
good music lessons as they've a dedicated music teacher who is very caring towards the children.

    • RE: west area confusion

      Hi,

I stay in west too. It's normal not to know which CC to go. Read some feedback here and things to look out for. Try then you'll know.

For 16 mths, I think important is to communicate with him more. The more the merrier. Read, play games, toys. He may not respond as you wish (read books to him he don't bother, flip books without following the pages or before you read finish etc) and it's perfectly normal. My MIL like to joke about our DS, 'if he so smart, tomorrow give him a bag and ask him go work.' 😉

Jus to share, sent my DS to wkend enrichment class when he turns 2. He sometimes do his own things instead of following the class. Just let him enjoy. Now at 2.5yrs, I put him in half day CC to let him interact and get used to school. On our part, just do our best like reading to him everynight, play toys, sing song whenever we can.

Advice 'Don't need to be too worried. Just do your best, don't compare'.

    • Our Juniors' Schoolhouse

      Hi All,

Any feedback on OJSH? They open 1 outlet at TradeHub 21. It's relatively new.... Went to their open house. The curriculum sounds quite good. It's a member of Cherie Hearts (whatever that means). Their website didn't list locations of their schools, are there other branches?

Is it advisable to send DS to a 'new' school? Am worried about the teacher's experience and turnover subsequently.
