so far, based on above discussion, only 1 question is deemed difficult, out of the entire two Maths papers (1 and 2), because don't see students bring out other challenging Maths questions.

If is only just 1 difficult question, then cannot conclude that Maths is tough, because in order to segregate out the (AL 1 vs. AL 2) students, definitely they have to set some tough questions. Otherwise, everyone will score AL 1, for today Maths

There is definitely more than 1 question that is difficult. In fact, there are numerous. It just isn't brought out yet as the students forgot how the question was.

If students in Singapore came out of the exam crying, it can't be over just one question.

As mentioned by other parents before, there are always kids going to cry. You can't possibly please everyone. If an easy paper is set, everyone gets AL1. Later will cry over tie-breaker balloting perhaps.

Learnt from this math paper that parents really have to send their children to enrichment centres as schools do not teach questions like these. How will parents respect teachers and schools anymore.
Some schools go that deep, not all.

Can students have two CCA in CCHM?
checked with principal during open house and he does not encourage two CCA. Maybe you could clarify with CCA leads during meeting on 11 Jan.

understand that end of p2 the kids will be streamed (or moved) to different classes. Was surprised that it is a openly discussed topic in the classrooms and kids wondering which class they will be going next year and whether they will be with their besties next year etc... boy can come home tell me classmates say best class is 3C

actually no real surprise given the competitive environment now, kids will feel pressure from parents and peers.

when my child was in p1 during the PTM session, I was told that..

      p1 and p2 - same class.
      streaming.
      p3 and p4 - same class.
      streaming.
      p5 and p6 same class.

correct me if I am wrong.
But p3, p4 class size different. Howto stay in same class.

The kids will be in a different class eventually. No point avoiding the topic. Right?

orh... thanks douzi for your ęŒ‡ē‚¹.. so there's still chance for other kids...

You're welcome. But I'm still not sure if the streaming is done based on certain subject or all the main subjects or a secret formula :xedfingers: . Will find out from Teacher next week during ptc.

so P3 & P4 will stick to same class for these 2 years? no chance or rather slim chance for a normal class P3 to be posted to HA P4 class? was there any history for this?

After P3, the class size will change, from30 per class to 40 per class. And some top students May go gep school. Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe they will regroup the kids. I guess.
