The kids will be in a different class eventually. No point avoiding the topic. Right?

when my child was in p1 during the PTM session, I was told that…

            p1 and p2 - same class.
            streaming.
            p3 and p4 - same class.
            streaming.
            p5 and p6 same class.

correct me if I am wrong.

                    Hi smurfy,

You said one actually is correct.
But maybe change of new Principal (i guess).
My 2nd boy (this year P4), he got to change to better class (told by the teacher) together with two friends based on the P3 result. (Minor changes for some class)

so P3 & P4 will stick to same class for these 2 years? no chance or rather slim chance for a normal class P3 to be posted to HA P4 class? was there any history for this?

After P3, the class size will change, from30 per class to 40 per class. And some top students May go gep school. Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe they will regroup the kids. I guess.

I understand at p4 some spaces may open up cos kids transfer (maybe GEP maybe to other sch) and yes, have heard of kids who get transferred to a `better` class. But keep in mind if the so called best class is really best place. For me personally, the best class for my child is one where he learns best and it may not be the top class. Juz sayin`

I have never compared notes wif other classes. Used to be top classes do lit in the form of Charlotte's web but DS1 time...to be honest, got do like no do cos he doesn't seem to have any work on that. I got the feel they may learn faster so perhaps they may have extra worksheets. But I have not verified.
