    • RE: How to get rid of scars

You may want to try laser treatment for your pimple scars. They work quite well.

For your scar caused by a fall, it depends on what kind of scar it is. If it is a raised scar, you may need steroid injection. If it is a hyperpigmented scar, go for laser.

    • RE: Pigmentation on face

It is best to see a doctor to get your face assessed properly. There are many types of pigmentation, and they are treated in different ways. Laser treatment is by far the most effective way to get rid of pigmentation. Even with laser treatment, different types of pigments are treated differently. If the diagnosis is wrong in the first place, treatment will fail.

There are hundreds of topical products out there for pigmentation. They either do not work, or take months or years to lighten the pigments a little, which eventually come back in vengeance. If you are very patient and are willing to diligently apply them every day, you can consider topical options.

Generally, pigments are divided into superficial (epidermis) and deep (dermis) pigments.
      1) Superficial pigments
Freckles and age spots are the commonest superficial pigments. Only 1 laser session is sufficient most of the time.
      2) Deep pigments
Melasma and birthmarks are deep pigments. These are more difficult to treat even with laser. It usually requires at least 3 sessions to start seeing some positive effects. Topical cream such as Triluma can be used to treat them as well but it takes a long time to work.

The bottom line is, see a doctor to get a diagnosis made so the best treatment option can be recommended.

    • RE: Getting Rid of Eye Bags

Eye bags and dark circles can be made less obvious with specific types of non-invasive aesthetic treatment.

      1) Dermal fillers
Fillers can be placed under the eyes and around the cheek area to flatten the hollowness and make the dark circles and eye bags appear less obvious.

      2) Botox
Small tiny injections of botox can be placed in the eye bags to shrink them.

All these treatment are temporary though, typically last for 6 months to a year.
As a doctor, I can honestly tell you that most of the facial products out there will not work for eye bags.
But then again, Korean actors and actresses these days intentionally inject fillers under their eyes to create eye bags!

    • RE: Facial cleanser for 10 year old gal

You should probably avoid commercial facial wash for your 10-year-old. They can cause allergic or contact dermatitis which would lead to dry and itchy face.

You can try cetaphil, it’s gentle on the skin and it’s moisturising.
      QV cream is another option.

    • RE: Removal of mole on face

It’s best to get your mole assessed by a doctor to determine what is the best option to remove it. If your doctor thinks your mole is suspicious looking, a more aggressive measure may be taken to remove it. You can either make an appointment with a skin specialist, or any GP or aesthetic clinics that perform mole removal. A simple mole removal is quick and easy, can be done on the same visit.
