Hi Eloise,
Yes I have the same problem. My son is rejected by MOE and they said that it is final outcome so that we do not have any chance for this year to let our children be in local schools.
My friend who is working in a agent office that provide some courses for international students for the Admission exercise for international students (AEIS) every year. She said that children need to pursue P1 and then in October, MOE conducts AEIS and my son can try that test to get in local school with good results in Maths and English (maybe essay also). You can find info in MOE website.
But the problem is, if this year would be difficult year for international student in Sing, is this more difficult for them to get in a local school via AEIS results when they initially said that they did not have enough vacancies for 2015 intake. I dont know and really get confused. They do want us to leave Singapore, dont they?
Hi YellowBelt,
Thank you for your reply.
Yeah, it's sad to see that they are limiting our options as foreigners and pushing us out. They definitely are not making it easy for us. My employer even said that if we have to go back home, they'll understand as family comes first
But to be fair, I have read that some PRs and even citizens also have a hard time getting into local schools.
With regards to AEIS, I have the same sentiments, I'm so confused and running around like crazy digging up info on how I can get my child into a local school. It does not have to be the top school, just any school, for now
Have you tried calling local schools to check if they still have vacancies? my friend did it when her daughter got rejected also and luckily they were able to find a school but they have to volunteer and that was 2-3 yrs ago, and they do volunteer still up until today. I will also call diff schools to try my luck, I'm not going down without a fight.

:xedfingers:
What do you plan on doing next?
