      Hi Lahburlug
Good to hear that. My sister inlaw mentioned that Pandan Primary is merged with Yuhua hence the standard is pretty good.
Unfortunately so far there is no feedback on Yuhua Pri..... 😢

Pandan Pri merged with Fuhua Pri last year, not with Yuhua Pri.

Since I know that my son surely not able to get a place in Nan Hua Pri in 2010 intake, then I may turn to Fuhua Pri or Yuhua Pri (consolation is that still ended with a Hua.... Hahahah just joking - need a break from this registration man)
Well, can anyone give appraisal on Fuhua Pri and Yuhua Pri. From this channel, i have read quite abit on Fuhua Pri but no Yuhua Pri. Like to hear more about this 2 schools in terms on homework, exams passing rate, teachers, sch environment and etc.

      Hi Fangfang,

I have heard from my mum that the neighbour (mum) above us had shared with her that Yuhua is getting better these days due to change in staffs/teaching methods.

Well of course, I'm not too sure how true this is.... anyone, care to share?

    • RE: Calvary Pandan Kindergarten

      Hi all,

My son is studying in Calvary since Nursery and he will be attending P1 next year. Regards to the academic, I have compare my son’s school work with my friend’s son (same age but hers is studying in PCF/PAP). My friend’s son already has spelling in K1 but my son only has spelling in K2 (Q2). I am alittle Kiasu and I have checked with his form teacher and his Chinese teacher. Both said they will be moving the children towards the P1 environment after 2nd Quarter of this year. Other than this, I am pretty okay with the rest. My son is introduced to computer when he was K1.

However, things done work out with my sister-inlaw. She has her 2 daughters studying there (eldest is K1 and youngest is Pre-N now). She has feedback to me that she also find that the academic is slower than other schools. Coloring and coloring… worksheets bring back without much clear instruction what to do… and etc. Her eldest is already K1 and she finds that she is not good in her Maths and English. She has to send her for extra lessons to have these improve. The worst is when her youngest girl has just adapted the school and after the March holiday, her form teacher left. She says the new form teacher was so lost when her girl cries and left her unattended … Lately she told me that the children restrooms are so dirty and her girl has UTI. She also said that her youngest girl class got child down with HFM not once but twice. Hence now her girl get sick pretty often. So her experience is not good and she also think of changing school for both, since my son will not be there next year.

She did went to Galilee. She find that the school is targetting more on playing / motor skill rather than studying.

For transportation, we are paying $45 each pax for 2 way (we are only few blocks away / 5 mins walking distance). However I have an unpleasant incident with the driver last year. My son took bus 4 to school and return home by bus 1. Apparently, my son was bullied in bus 4, not once but everyday. I don’t wish to relate the matter anymore. However I felt that the bus driver and the accompained assistant in the bus should stop all this immediately. Do you know how I get to know this… not from my son is from my another boy who took the same bus. Me and my hubby got so mad and we trashed out with the driver the next day. She said she has told them to stop but they don’t listen. Comeon dun give me this kind of crap!! This thing will not happen to bus 1 as the accompanied assistant is very strict. The next thing, me and my hubby went to the school and lodged a complaint to the principal and my son’s form teacher. At the end of the day, the entire bus 4 students were told to stay back and listen to lectures. Warnings are given by the Principal. From then onwards, everything ceased! Now my son took bus 1 to and fro. This also gave my son a lesson, you should inform your parents when you are being bullied.

I think that’s about all I can feedback.
      Cheers

Hi, I am new in this forum. My son is due to for P1 registration this year. we live near Lavender and are thinking of registering him for SJI Junior given that we are Catholics, and SJIJ is the nearest all-boys Catholic school near to us.

H/w, I have heard that SJIJ's standard is not too good and that the chinese level is poor. Anyone can share experience on this?
Hi Mircale Child, so far did anyone revert back to you. I also wish to register my son at SJJIJ but now got worried when you mentioned the standard ain't good. Are you referring to their PSLE passing rate ain't good?

I have just phoned Fuhua Primary this morning. Based on last year registration, there is no balloting needed…

You can consider Qifa which is quite near to pandan gdns.

Thanks for your advice. However I have a neighbour whose grandson is studying at Qifa. She discouraged me to register there as the school is not so good. 😞

      Hi there

So in short, can I say that SJIJ still carries out balloting session every year. My parents are staying 1.99km away from the school and if I am using my parents address, he will belongs to the Phase 2B, right? We are a taoism family… though my son went to a church kindergarten. I am not particular about the belief. However I am worry that the school does particular about it. My son’s standard is so-so only, kinda worry that he might not be able to make it in the studies. Can anyone advice how is the schools’s standard?

Hi All, we stay in Pandan Gardens. There is no school that is within 1km and infact there is none within 2km as well. I am stucked here whereby I clearly know that my son surely cannot get in to Nan Hua Primary School (3.75km). So the only choices left are Fuhua Primary and Yuhua Primary. Based on our distance from both schools (more than 3km and less than 4km) we are surely belong to the phase 2b or 2c. Wondering anyone can advice looking at my situation, do we need to go thru the balloting and what is the chance for my son to study in either of these schools?
