[Jurong East] Primary Schools
-
Sorry, forgot to mention that the the schools that I am referring to are Fuhua and Jurong primary;)

Hi All, we stay in Pandan Gardens. There is no school that is within 1km and infact there is none within 2km as well. I am stucked here whereby I clearly know that my son surely cannot get in to Nan Hua Primary School (3.75km). So the only choices left are Fuhua Primary and Yuhua Primary. Based on our distance from both schools (more than 3km and less than 4km) we are surely belong to the phase 2b or 2c. Wondering anyone can advice looking at my situation, do we need to go thru the balloting and what is the chance for my son to study in either of these schools?

anyone know what is the percentage for Jurong Pri need to conduct balloting for those staying w/i 2km for 2010 p1 ?

You can consider Qifa which is quite near to pandan gdns.

Thanks for your advice. However I have a neighbour whose grandson is studying at Qifa. She discouraged me to register there as the school is not so good.

I have just phoned Fuhua Primary this morning. Based on last year registration, there is no balloting needed…
-
To add on, based on last year’s registration, there was no balloting exercises for Fuhua Pri and Yuhua Pri. Jurong Pri did conduct balloting exercise last year for > 1km under phase 2C. No PV required in Jurong Pri.

To clarify, Jurong Pri conducted balloting under phase 2C last year for those staying 1-2km. So only those staying within 1km was assured of a place. Cammy if you stay within 2km, you would need to ballot if statistics is same as last year. Doing PV will qualify u under phase 2B. However if your child is going for P1 in 2010 then you would be too late for PV now. -

Since I know that my son surely not able to get a place in Nan Hua Pri in 2010 intake, then I may turn to Fuhua Pri or Yuhua Pri (consolation is that still ended with a Hua… Hahahah just joking - need a break from this registration man)
Well, can anyone give appraisal on Fuhua Pri and Yuhua Pri. From this channel, i have read quite abit on Fuhua Pri but no Yuhua Pri. Like to hear more about this 2 schools in terms on homework, exams passing rate, teachers, sch environment and etc.
