Hi Zarahmom… Im not attending the workshop today… Let me know if its informative. Thanks!

Hi XrisGoh
Good for you that ur DD has a good FT… a good teacher is hard to come by though…

Hi PHTTHP
I dont think the school will be able to do transfer class … the take up rate during registration is 100%… unless some gals withdraw their seats… otherwise i would assume all classes are filled up though…

DD is also happy with her classmates now… by changing class, she will have to do though the transition again… maybe not ba…

I am a p1 Faith parent..:)

Hi Zarahmom! I'm a P1 Faith Parent too. How's your gal coping in school now?

just a quick qns, did you ever tried to communicate with the FT? My experience was that i sent her emails and there was never any respond.

Last month my DD had a fall in FT class and injured her chin which requires 12 stitches. Thereafter, FT did not even call to check on DD's condition.

So after that i sent an email to inform her that DD will be on mc for 3-4 days. No reply....

2 days later, i sent another email to the FT asking if there is any homework for DD. No reply.

Frankly, I'm quite dissapointed with the FT. I actually wanted to write to the principal regarding this, but same time, im worried that the FT may \"blacklist\" DD because her mother complained about her.

Anyone 1 faith parent here? do you have any experience with the FT?

• RE: Keming Primary

Hi all

I’ve got the below from the school website. Any feedback about the music program offered from parents whose kids are in Keming now?

Music
Music Programmes

Primary 1 – General Music Syllabus
All Primary 1 students will enjoy a basic music programme which makes use of a comprehensive lesson package from the Perfect Match music textbook.

Primary 2 – Violin programme
All Primary 2 students will undergo a 28 week violin programme which will teach students the basics of playing the violin. At the end of the year, students will be able to play at least 4 tunes with the right technique.

Primary 3 – Guitar programme
All Primary 3 students will have the opportunity to learn how to play the guitar for 28 weeks. They will learn more about the parts of the guitar, how to play 6 different chords and play 4 different tunes by the end of the year. They will be assessed on basic theory as well and aural skills.

Primary 4 – Music Elective Programme

All Primary 4 students will be able to opt for their music elective at the end of Primary 3. Students can opt for either the vocal Training programme, ABRSM Music theory training or General Music Programme which incorporates Dalcroze Eurhythmics – a new approach to the teaching of music and movement.

Primary 5 – Music Applications
For 1 semester, students will be immersed in the creation of music tunes via the computer through Macintosh softwares. Students will learn how to create music to suit commercials.

Primary 6 – History of Music
All Primary 6 students will learn more about various famous music composers as well as the history of music. They will also get to experience different genres of music and learn via Dalcroze Eurhythmics.

• RE: Eye Level Education Centre (aka Enopi) - Discussion

Hi, i’m also went to the roadshow. Still consider as the timing not ok for me as weekends my kid have enrichment. Still consider friday evening. So you have enrolled your girl for Maths. How’s about English?
Yea, I got the Saturday 10am slot for my girls. Not taking english, cos they are with zoo-phonics on Sundays.
My girl also with zoo-phonics. Thinking of withdraw her from zoo-phonics so that she can have Maths & english together on sat so that i don’t need to travel 2 places. Is your girls ok with zoo-phonics? Able to read on her own?
I think zoo-phonics is rather cool. Before i send her in last yr, I almost died trying to teach her myself (i tink i also duno how to teach la). So 1 mth after she is with zoo, she can read already. Not as in reading 1 whole book la… She can blend and make out words herself, she knows e sound of all alphas very well. (side track abit, I dun like like the admin staff la. very stubborn and not open to parents’ voice). But as long as the teaching system works, I keep quiet lor.

In fact, my girl pester me everyday to flash cards at her (i make words, she read).

Enopi wise, Im just trying my luck, I give the centre 6 mths to show me what they can do lo…

u sure ur kid can sit ther for almost 3 hours to do enopi eng/math on a sat?? Risky leh…
Any feedback on Enopi Upper Bukit Timah?

Hi Oneheart

I went to Enopi Bukit Timah to take a look last Sunday afternoon about 12+.. Surprisingly, nobody in leh... So i peep though the glass door, a small counter, 2 small room, a small walkway..

For me, the \"environment\" is a considering factor.. Teacher wise, have to try then know lo...

So after that i went to Enopi, Jurong East, Newly set up (they had a road show), they had free assessment, and should you enroll, they waive 30buck of registration, a free bag and manipulative blocks thrown in.

The centre is bright n nicely decorated. about 5 - 6 working personel.
I enrolled with them, cos they managed to get my super shy and introvert girl engaged.

Maybe you wanna check them out...??
