Hi,
I notice that there are some constructions next to Hong Wen. Are they building condo? Will it cause jam during morning peak? Worry that it will be noisy if the construction work is performed on a week day.

RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
Halifax, Katong and Lim Ah Pin have very dedicated long time experience teachers. But not for the newer centers. Dedicated teachers are compensating factor for lousy curriculum.
Anyway, for those thinking of switching out, better make sure your alternative childcare options are available. I have checked with childcare like mindchamp, kinderland, carpe diem, they are all taken up with waiting list. The longest waiting list is My First School! The administrator actually ask me to try other childcare as there are a lot of people queuing before me and I will not stand any chance even if all existing K1 students pull out. So Kua Zhang. :gloomy:
Will drop by a kindergarden tomorrow. My last chance. If to no avail, I have to resign to fate
Running out of time... Gotto submit the 2014 confirmation form next week before they open to public

RE: Pat's Schoolhouse
Hi, anyone here know how the K2 curriculum looks like?
Are they going to continue with their daily water/sand/playground/cycling sessions?
The 5 months rehearsal for year end concert which jetsetter mention, it's going to eat into which time slot? Any idea?
I rather they make do with all the play, and use the playtime for the rehearsal, please don't use the pathetic lesson time for rehearsals.
To me, K2 is an important year for the children of Pats to catch up with the children from other preschools. The playtime should be reduced and they have to face reality since primary school do not have daily play sessions.
They must also understand that mass market school like MFS has improved drastically on their curriculum and their children are academically stronger, although I must agree that children from pats are better in terms of games and motor skills.
Guess that is because MFS only has 1 session of playground each week unlike our kids.
Anyway, hope to get some advises from existing K2 parents.
We have to submit our confirmation form by 5 sep, really in dilemma now.
The turnover rate of children in the class is very high, while looking at the album in my parents portal, realized that 50% of the classmates were new. Didn't know that so many have left during the year.
On the other hand, we are just one year away from graduation. So it's like almost there.
Haiz, dilemma. :stupid: -

Just received the fee increased letter today.
The % increased is more than my pay increment this year. :?:
Is that the norm for all private childcare centers. -
RE: All About Affiliations between Pri & Sec Schools
Hi,
Can I check for girls schools, which are the ones that the primary school is right next to the affiliated secondary school?
As the age gap between my elder gal and my second one is rather wide, for convenience sake, I plan to get my elder one into a school with affiliation and the secondary school is right next to the primary school.
I know SCGS, MGS, St Nic and PLMGS.
Anymore?
Thank you. -

40 places, quite a miserable number honestly. Anyhow, a step in the right direction.
Agree.
Better than nothing. :rahrah:
Give commoners a chance to join the popular school.
If I filter out schools with less than 40 spaces for phase 2C this year, those schools should be the ones that will be affected next year, I suppose? -

I think it's more of a reverse order allocation ie 40 will be set aside for P2C. From there, P2A and P2B will be adjusted accordingly... I think.....charlotte_momo:
P2c will cfm hv 4o slots from next yr onwards.
Meaning that by 2a2, if still hv 60 slots, are they only giving 20 to p2b? Cos 40 has to go to p2c?
What if there are schools with lesser than 40 slots?
Looking forward to more details.
Cheers!
Looking forward to this change.
