My optometrist at Paya Lebar sells very reasonable glasses and he is very good with kids and recommendations. Kids range glasses starts from $98 inclusive of lenses but is dependent on your kid’s prescription. I use to make glasses for my kids from him for around $200 for those swissflex material glasses but not the swissflex brand and it is equally good! Lasted for a few years. But as my kids myopia have been increasing quite fast, he recommended OrthoK to slow down the myopia progression and it worked! For the past 1 year of OrthoK, my kids myopia did not increase at all and I am very please with his service and professionalism and genuine care for my kid’s eyes!

My 2 kids have been on OrthoK for myopia for the past 3years and to me it is the most effective way for myopia control, and to do whatever they want without having the need to wear glasses. I have a friend who's kids use to be on atropine drops and the kids have to wear transition lens so that things are not too glaring, but in the end their power still increased -50 every 3 months. I recommended him to try OrthoK with my optometrist and told him to give it a try, as it is a reversible procedure, he can stop anytime if he feels that the treatment is not good. Up till now he is very satisfied with the treatment, and told me that he was glad that I recommended him to my optometrist. His kids myopia only increased -50 in 1 year instead of -50 every 3 months. In my opinion OrthoK is really the best choice for myopia control as my kids are able to do whatever they want without their glasses. My boy can swim now without seeing things blur as before as his myopia was quite high around -400, and my little girl can now go for her dance classes without relying on glasses as well despite her myopia of also -400. They have been using OrthoK for the past 3 years and their myopia have not increased since. I also do my part by ensuring that they have good visual habits as advised by my optometrist. I have been with my optometrist for many years even after he went to other practices, and he gives really good advises, at first I was very skeptical of this treatment as all the parents here, but my optometrist was very patient and professional in explaining how will the treatment help my kids, and I was convinced of the benefits. Now my kids are also very happy that they do not rely on glasses anymore, unless when they are sick, and can't put on the lenses for several nights.
