• RE: All About Getting Priority Registration

tansg:
Nanyang already has 30 registration for 23 vacancy for 2B as of this morning vs Henry Park with 12 only for 20 vacancy - the new measure is actually working. For the Active Community Leaders who can go either school, they should def go for Henry Park this year - will be Gteed even if they are outside 2km!

I think it is still too early to tell. From my experience a lot of parents will make a move after the preliminary result this evening before deciding the next course of action. There are also a group where both parents will be stationed at two schools to monitor the situation.

I do however agree that by having that 40 places split for 2B/2C it definitely allow those who stay near the school to have a higher chance
Hi there,

I'll be registering my son for either ACSP or ACSJ in phase 2B. I live within 1 KM what are the odds for balloting you think this year?

In phase 2C, if my son don't get in at phase 2B i will try for ACSP or ACSJ or SJIJ 1 km - what do you think? Any advice is much appreciated.

If i don't get in any my back up plan is bendemeer primary or farrer park primary - which one do you think is better - thank you in advance.

need some advise thanks.

With the change in the numbers being allocated i think balloting will take place as more ppl might want to take the chance (20 more slots).

You can continue to check the numbers and take the chance for both 2B and 2C as historically there will be vacancies left for phase 3 for both Bendemeer and Farrer Park if you are able to take the stress

I previously enrolled my son to Farrer Park as i was not successful in the Phase 2C balloting exercise, instead of Bendemeer mainly because of the location and also the low number of student intake. As the class size is small the teachers do have more time to pay attention to each of the students (class size was about 21 for my son's class). The communication with the teachers were very pleasant and there was constant follow up. There was no need to wait for PTC to feedback. Other than this i dont really have any experience of Bendemeer hence not in a position to comment.

Thanks QWERTYUI. Your son is enjoying his time at Farrer Park? BTW hope you don't mind me asking which school did you ballot for and were you within 1 KM?
I balloted for HWS during Phase 2C and was within 1 km

K. First of all, I said \"maybe\".

And sorry. I meant after phase 3 closes. When there's withdrawal from school for whatever reason (maybe family relocating), then there's vacancies and it's subjected to school's decision to give whichever slots available to those in waiting list and not governed by MOE rules.
I've heard \"stories\" of entrance not based on sequence in waiting list, not based on distance or whatsoever validity, but based on where you stay, e.g. Bukit Timah, Orchard Road or Sentosa Cove...It's solely at the school's digression. Will not say much more as I can't verify the truths and do not want to get into lawsuits.
Anyway, like any other hearsays, it's just my side of story feeling that it's unfair upon hearing those.
Moderator please delete my posts and maybe all related ones to avoid conflict and causing uneccesary miscommunication. I shall not comment thereafter. Thanks!
Almost all schools who have all vacancies taken up will have a waiting list. U could be right that entrance is not based on waiting list and it is up to the school's digression. However from what i understand the school needs to justify why the vacancy is given to which ever student just in case it is made know to others and they question the decision, thus i believe there are many factors to be considered before coming to a decision. Hence it is not easy for the school to make that decision, as they will not be able to please everyone.
