      Hi there,

I’ll be registering my son for either ACSP or ACSJ in phase 2B. I live within 1 KM what are the odds for balloting you think this year?

In phase 2C, if my son don’t get in at phase 2B i will try for ACSP or ACSJ or SJIJ 1 km - what do you think? Any advice is much appreciated.

If i don’t get in any my back up plan is bendemeer primary or farrer park primary - which one do you think is better - thank you in advance.

      need some advise thanks.

        ASTER:
        A question to ponder.....

The current madness regarding every year P1 Registration - is it cause by:

        1. Parents

        or

        2. The system i.e. MOE phases 1 to 3

        or

        3. Both

IMHO i think we parents cause it ourselves.....
Everyone jumping into the kiasu bandwangon.......I come from a very good school ACS - too bad i got no sons....Cannot study only O Level but still earn approx 80K a year. No degree still can survive. So does your child enter a good school sure study well meh, still figuring out this good school mentality. To be honest i hate my rich and stuckup classmates, really spolit brats and no manners they are bad influence as well. My conclusion is end of the day - the parents support, care, concern, actively engage your children in conversation, play with them, monitor and supervise their homework, teach them to be street smart....better than throwing them into a good school, tuition centers, enrichment classes but leave no time for them at all......Study very smart but no character at all..Of course i dont deny good schools is important.....Did you guys ever see a school Principal eat Macdonald breakfast with the students in Class , take Napfa test with students.....it makes me guilty that sometimes as a parents we fail to do so......think about it......
in my honest opinion, every parent who cares enough for their child and their future, would want the best possible sch for their child. Not saying that parents who place their kids in neighbourhood schools are bad. Its just a matter of choice. Your parents obviously wanted the best for you and placed u in ACS. Your success is your own capabilities... but that said, i believe ACS did do something to u (either to proof to rich spoilt brats or you hoping u can excel even though u are not a rich spoilt brat)...

i want to put my son in SJI.. i will not want to put him in xxx Pri.. nothing wrong with xxx, its just i feel SJI is the best fit for him.. Not because its branded, but because

        1. its doesnt focus so much on academics but focus on developing the whole child

        2. a strict rule on no bullying

        3. and angmo-ish environment for my angmo speaking son

        4. we are catholics.

So sometimes, its not just the brand parents are looking for. My son will DIE in Marist.. he will die in Nanyang too.. So even if we had the opportunity, i will not choose those schs just because it can \"give face\" to me when ppl ask me what sch my son is in.

so pls dun judge parents who know their child best and want to give their child the very best. After this p1 reg, their whole lives are up to them.. PSLE, O Levels and beyond. Its not up to me anymore. So since p1 is up to me, i have to fight for the best sch possible for him.

With the change in the numbers being allocated i think balloting will take place as more ppl might want to take the chance (20 more slots).

You can continue to check the numbers and take the chance for both 2B and 2C as historically there will be vacancies left for phase 3 for both Bendemeer and Farrer Park if you are able to take the stress

I previously enrolled my son to Farrer Park as i was not successful in the Phase 2C balloting exercise, instead of Bendemeer mainly because of the location and also the low number of student intake. As the class size is small the teachers do have more time to pay attention to each of the students (class size was about 21 for my son's class). The communication with the teachers were very pleasant and there was constant follow up. There was no need to wait for PTC to feedback. Other than this i dont really have any experience of Bendemeer hence not in a position to comment.
