Hey thanks!! Yes i got my son into ACSP our first choice - I'm over the moon soooo happy
congrats I think u r inMelaniessl:
Hi there,
I'm regsitering my son this year for either ACSP or ACSJ and i'm living within 1 KM to these 2 schools and SJIJ also. Hubby is methodhist so we will qualify for phase 2B for the 2 ACS schools but not for SJIJ.
My first choice would be ACSP and if the numbers don't look good, I'll withdraw and register for ACSJ. Based on last years balloting results both schools did not need to ballot for citizens within 1KM for phase 2B. I'm just quite surprised by this how the numbers fit in so nicely. Was it purely luck that there was no balloting for within 1KM or did the parents kinda discuss amongst themselves and some decided to go to the other ACS school to avoid a balloting situation at ACSP. Pardon my question if it sounds ignorant. Also, last year ACSJ even had to ballot for within 1KM for phase 2C whereas ACSP did not - very surprising to me.
Also, if I have already registered for ACSP on day one but then want to monitor the situation and then switch to ACSJ at the last minute - which day do i do this - on the last day? For those who have registered before, can you call the school and get detailed info on how many people have registered and which KM do they fall under on a daily basis? I know they will provide info on citizens registered but will they provide info such as the KM they are living, as this info is key to the decision.
Thank you.
What do you think my odds are to get into either ACS for phase 2B and then in phase 2C to try all 3 schools including SJIJ?
I'm having a mini heart attack just thinking about it.
I think the high number of vacancies in ACSJ took the heat away from ACSP this year. -

Hi Everyone, my son will be attending ACSP primary one next year. Anyone else? I've just registered him for the in house student care as I'd prefer for him not to be watching TV all afternoon.

ChiefKiasu:
Sorry but i need to ask further on this as it may be a possible scenario for hubby and me. So let's say we split up - one parent at registered school to withdraw. Does he need 2 ics to withdraw?
1) Yes you can do that.edwardkr:
Hi,
Need some advice and tips if possible.
I will be registering my son in Phase 2B to a school that our church is affiliated with (School A).
However, our 1st choice school is actually School B, which we can only register in Phase 2C.
I understand that we should register to School A first in Phase 2B to secure a seat. And then be on standby in Phase 2C. If it seems that we have a chance to get into School B (1st choice) then we need to withdraw the 2B registration at School A and quickly register to School B.
Question:
- Is my understanding above correct that we can withdraw the Phase 2B registration at School A and then quickly register to School B at Phase 2C?
- How much time is needed to withdraw the registration from one school and the re-register at another school?
If there is any link or tips that anyone can share, will be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
2) Time to withdraw is a matter of minutes, depending on how busy the admin clerks are at the school. 2 hours should be a good gauge.
This register-withdraw-register strategy is best executed with one parent being stationed at both schools.
Remember, you take a big risk of not catching any birds at all if you wrongly estimate the demand in the target school.
Upon withdrawing, other parent immediately take number at other school to queue up for registering. Do you need 2 ics to take queue number? Because other parent can't register until person comes with 2 ics right?
Sorry for being so specific but i don't want to take any chances.
Thanks in advance. -
RE: 2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take
Is it my imagination or does it seem like ACSJ may have quite a lot of vacancies for phase 2B and 2C this year? I'm within 1 KM for phase 2B and 2C - so highly likely i will try for this school versus ACSP which is also 1 KM but much less vacancies. But if both no need ballot i prefer ACSP as my younger one will attend the Barker Road Methodist Kindy next year.
Fingers crossed so nervous!!
