est1892:thanks Snuggles, it's a surprise because she has not complained about not being able to see things and in the car she can spot posters from far away. She had a eye test in K2 about 4 months ago and all was fine. booked something for next week, don't want to wait for the HPB 3 weeks later.
est, how did your appointment with HPB go? Does she need to wear glasses?snuggles:
my DD just had an eye test at school. 6/24 and 6/18 and have been told to go for a re-assessement. does that mean she has myopia and need glasses?
Hi est,
Your DD's vision seem quite poor, she may have difficulty seeing the board. Get her seen quickly by an optometrist or eye doctor.

hi eu-ern,Thanks for the concern. In the mean time, I have changed ds lenses.
Suspects the way he grips his pencil too low is causing him to lower his head to see what he is writing and thus the close distance his eyes are from the work he does. He reads a lot too. As both parents work, he does not get enough outdoor time.
I think that sometimes their sitting posture is affect by the height of their table and chairs. my DS1 likes to hutch over his work and I tried to adjust his chair height. He sits better now but some times still slouches. ( habit I think). So for DS2. I ensure I check the height of the chair. He is a little better. -

My ds is given a early morning appointment in late April at SNEC. Will try getting a nearer date if possible.
yes eu-ern, might want to try getting an earlier date. April seems a little far to me. Not good have blurred vision for so long. May affect the learning if they are in school already. -

yes I prefer my 3 boys to play outdoors but sometimes no choice but to let the ipad do the baby sitting.eu-ern:
snuggles, jetsetter,
thanks! To the great outdoors then eh? We re-discovered East Coast Park during the hols and have been going every fortnight to cycle. Love it!
Cycling is good but I try to avoid the afternoon hours between 11-2. not good for skin and eyes. -
RE: All About Kids' Eye-sight
When the kids are looking in the distance, it relaxes the muscles in the eyes. so risk for myopia is less.
All forms of near work is bad for myopia. Esp the iphone and ipad but also if the kids do a lot of rainbow loom. Reading when laying down is also very bad, the book is too close to the eyes. -

RE: Son.... where is mummy's dearest ah boy
MILs come in different shapes and sizes. The one you have may not be to your liking, but remember that she is the mother of your loved one. She loved and took care of you DH, like you now love and take care of your ds/dd. Give her the love and respect she deserves.
If you enter a relationship with her in doubt and discontent, you will not find happiness. When you open your heart and be nice, you could be pleasantly surprised. -
