    • RE: How to select schools during S1 posting?

      For first choice, I think it has to be either RGS or MGS as both share COP AL6.

      Do you know cohort size for RGS? Are the 120 MGS IP places after DSA seats are set aside?
      RGS cohort size is 400, but not sure how many taken by DSA. MGS IP cohort of 120 - I’m assuming that is including those taken in at DSA, so non-DSA places should be less than 120.

      My daughter scored AL6 and her preferred schools in order of preference are RGS (COP4-6), MGS (IP) (COP4-6) and Cedar IP (COP4-8). If we choose the school in this order, would putting MGS IP as 2nd choice be a waste of the 2nd choice because the chances of getting MGS IP with only 120 places (based on what I read in this thread) could be quite low. I wonder if we should put Cedar IP as 2nd choice. And insights would be appreciated.

      I have a question on the morning drop off. Are we allowed to park at the car park at Bartley Christian Church opposite the school and walk with the boy over the overhead bridge? I called the school and the person on the phone was not able to provide an answer.

      hi, New to kiasuparents

      anyone knows attire for 1A?
      mon, tue, wed = PE attire
      Thu = House-T
      Friday = uniform?
      beside what does AS STAR1 means? Thanks
      Hi jqdad,

      Yes, you are right on the attire for 1A. I have no idea what AS STAR means.

      So far, aside from a newsletter from school, I have received no communication from the form teacher. I wonder if this is only for 1A or the same for other classes.

      The school calendar can be viewed on the school website. There is a P1 parents briefing on 29 Jan (Fri) at 5pm.

      I also received the notice of price increase from Aroozoo last week.

      I'm going to speak to Anita this week about the price increase and understanding the reasons, etc. If I don't get a satisfied answer, I'll request for a meeting with Patricia Koh. If enough parents make noise, they will feel the heat. There is little effect if we simply complain on this forum. I'll have 2 kids going to Aroozoo from 2013 onwards and am quite concerned with the situation.

      Hi Woodstock and other displeased parents from Aroozoo,

      We should organise a meeting with Anita to voice our displeasure at the fee increases. And also at the absurdity of giving an advanced one month school fee for existing students to secure a place for 2013!

      We should not be at the mercy of Knowledge Universe!

      breezie80, I have sent you a PM.

      One parent is not enough. Any parent who is concerned about the price increase should raise their concerns with the school. Waiting for other parents to do it on behalf of others is not the way to go. I’m not advocating confrontations. But imagine if more parents just request to speak to the principal to understand the reasons behind the price increase and express their concerns, the feedback will go upwards.
