Empress- you could have a point there but I thought it was rather nice that parents were always being attended to by someone who knows about the school.

Yes, it is nice for prospective parents but for existing students, I think it is both disruptive and not good for security that strangers are visiting at irregular times. These are the same reasons that primary schools do not allow outsiders or even parents to just walk into the school.
      pebblez:
know that Learning Vision under the same KU group has a central hotline and we are always referred to a call center which I found frustrating, and we are always pushed to a date that we are unavailable. So I think they do in fact have a system like that but Pat's SH declined the use of it, perhaps?
I have never seen any sign of a centralised system in the last few years. PSH is already established enough not to need to worry excessively over intake so they should not focus on accomodating requests but rather on running the school more efficiently and maintaining high standards in the interests of the children.

        Hi ahbombom

As far as i know, imaths, swimming and harmony road is under the bundle-buy programme so they should not be replaced. So far my girl is still continuing on these few stuffs and the school has not inform us on any of the changes.

        Hope this help 😄
Thanks smilingmummy. I'm actually wondering about the extended half day to 3pm programme. I think it is convenient and my girl has some enrichment sessions to occupy her. I called a few centres and it seems that they don't offer it anymore for new students. Now I'm thinking if I should enroll her in church kindys that offer enrichment sessions by external provider after their lessons. For example, she gets to attend fasttrack kids taught by Pat's Schoolhouse teachers at Newton Kindergarten which she doesn't get to attend if she's schooling at Pat's Schoolhouse itself for half day AM.

          Hi pebblez,

I am surprise that they are actually offering you a place in the waitlist for Pat's LAP.
Did they tell you your kid is number what in the wait list?
From what i know the waitlist is very long and its quite impossible to slot a 08 kid into their nursery class?
Anyway, i have given up hope on LAP and had put my 08' gal with Aroozoo.

I guess the unpleasant encounters is because there are still very new and Aroozoo is hugh. So its no wonder that they look disorganised.
I believe if you drop by this week or so, you shld be able to see a big improvement as all the kids are more or less settled in, except for one or two new ones joining...
In fact, there is going to be a CNY gathering cum performances this friday and parents are invited.
          😉
Not bad for a school that starts few weeks ago.

Same here… Really looking forward to it…

Everyone is so new to the school, dont think they can dance and sing together well.
Important thing is our children are having fun while performing…

Btw I haven’t got my comm book yet. Was actually inform by the teacher abt this CNY gathering. They have to wear CNY clothes rite?
Woodstock, your kid is from which level? Mine is nursery.

Yup it’s a piece of paper in e comm book.

I was at aroozoo this mrng with my toddler. It’s true tt e other levels look rather settled in now. But was rather chaotic in e toddlers class. N I’m rather concerned if they can cope when parents not around next week. I had to step out for a work call in e midst of the mrng activities n my kid started crying after 5 min n e teachers didn’t seem able to console her so I had to carry her out n continued my work call standing outside carrying her. I’m really worried.

N I was given understanding tt Tom n fri we can choose to let e kids stay e afternoon on their own. I intended to let her try it out bec I’m on leave til fri n can b on standby to go back any time in pm if needed. But in e mrng e teachers apparently have e impression tt these 3 days wil b half day mrng only. And when I said mine wil stay e pm next 2 days, they said have to check n get anita’s approval. Later Anita did reiterate tt kid can stay e pm from Tom. But I do feel very worried tt there seems to b a miscom on something so important.

I also picked up a stapler from e floor in e classroom. And noticed tt no sun protection was applied for e kids when they went to playground at 10ish when it was rather sunny. There was also a lot of sandflies looking like insects flying ard at e playground.

I’m really very worried n hope all e above r teething issues. I’ve been waiting for e opening of e todds class bec I really needed e childcare arrangement, but what I saw today didn’t inspire much confidence n comfort. Sigh. Can only hope tt things get better from here. Fingers crossed.

                      Hi Crystal,

                      Thanks for the mention.

Yes I know that LAP has a fantastically long wait list and many children are still waiting to get in.

I'll pay aroozoo a visit again, but its nice to know that your girl is in nursery there. If we do finally decide, my daughter would be in nursery too, hope to catch you there then. Which class is your daughter in?

And nice seeing a few parents here from aroozoo too 🙂 Hope to meet you guys in person one day 🙂

                        Hi pebble,

Did u check with Anita if there are places for aroozoo? There are already 15 kids in my gal’s class. Not sure what is the max. I guess now is the right time to visit again. The 3 nursery classes are quite settled now.
My gal had a great time yesterday for the CNY gathering.
After the performances, the kids had to go to different station to complete their game card. Due to the size of the school, they had several decent stations, like a jiaozi making room, music movement station, treasure hunt etc. anyway, my gal did not complete all as she was distracted by the cycling track. This event Was Quite impressive for a school that is setup for less than 1 month.
Really hope they can maintain this standard. My previous school was impressive initially but turned quite bad this year. That y I transferred to aroozoo.
