      hi vito,

my personal opinion, though you didnt ask, is to at least let him try the program. Like 3rd lang, they can drop out if they cant cope later on, right?
      I totally agree with you.

But in my case, the 3rd language centre is so far away, i am worried she will be dead tired.

Also, I read some where here that the drop out rate is very high ... so we just thought ...

Anyway ... if the original sole purpose is to get the 2 bonus point deduction, is dropping out now a wrong decision ?

      Please advise.

      Thanks

        DecJan:
Bus pick up from my place is at 6.05am and costs $110. But DS refused to take sch bus (after having taken sch bus for 6 yrs). Hubby drove him to sch this morning, reached around 6.50am. Exit by Eng Neo, said traffic not too bad on the outer right lane, but more slow moving vehicles on the leftmost lanes, along NYGH,NJC,RGS as well as NYPS and MGS. But if hubby's out of town, DS will take public transport on his own. Quite a distance (about an hour's travel) He is taking Jap Studies as he is keen to try something new to him. Hope our sons enjoy themselves today.

I used Adam exit this morning, hit the exit at 6.55am but still reach HCI at 720am. Tomo i intend to leave home at 615am. Sigh!

BTW my DS is also in Jap class commencing on 14 Jan

Happy New Year to you too, DecJan. Ya, we were abt to rtn the signed copy of the letter of transfer to DHS when we received a call from HCI that our appeal was successful. After some discussion, we decided on HCI. After one big round, we're bk to HCI again. Initially, our 1st choice was either HCI or VS cos' not sure of IP. Hope this is the right choice.

My DS only needs to take the bus home or to granny hse. My hubby or myself (when hubby not in town) will send him to sch. I did not bring him on bus trips but just drove according to the bus-route & show him where to alight. Hope he can manage today. It's pretty convenient cos' there's a direct bus home. But to my mum's pl, he needs to transfer bus, still ok cos' after transfer, only 3 bus-stops away from destination. Actually, there is a sch bus svc fm our hse to HCI @$95 but pick up at 6.10 am, a bit too early. My hubby wants to try this wk & see how's the traffic flow, then decide whether to let DS take sch bus. This morning, my hubby said PIE Adam exit traffic was heavy, mayb cos' NY Pri was there too. He will try Stevens Rd exit 2moro & see if its better.
My DS not taking 3rd lang. but he signed up for the Malay Special Prog. which is held in sch. Which lang. is yr DS taking?
Yap, we've the folder with all the orientation details. Tks.

Steven Road exit will kena the SCGS traffic

Could anyone kind enough to share how was the DSA interview conducted by HCI ?

One to one ? Many to one ? One to many ?

What kind of questions do they ask ?

Also, what are the reasons for choosing between HCI / RI - for and against ? Kindly please share with this verykiasu 2010 paprent

            Many thanks in advance!

Can i check with you whether I made the correct decision.

At first in the S1 form, I ask my kid to put in Malay Special Program. The reason is this can get 2 bonus point deduction when applying for JC.

But when my kid got into IP program, we decided to drop out bcos we thought the 2 points is not relevant since got into IP.

Is it correct to drop out ?

              Thanks
Well, VitoRelax, it all depends on whether yr child is interested in the program. For me, my boy express his interest, so I just let him try since lessons are conducted in sch.

Same here, my hubby was stuck at Adam exit for abt 15 mins. Also reach HCI at 720am. This morning, he tried exit via Stevens Rd, reach HCI at 7.10am. Left home at 6.35am.

If I recall correctly it was 2 or 3 interviewers to 1 student. One of the interviewers is a senior student. Questions like what gummy bears are made of, why the student picked a particular one out of 3 available chairs to sit on for the interview.

HCI was my son's preference and I respected his choice even though I had my reservations cos it is a good school and it's so near home he walks to school in under 10 min- a big convenience to both him and me.

Also, does anyone know if Friday’s a school day?

You've made a decision, move on, dont look back! After all, your girl's ip so no need 2 points la.

But, it'll sure look nicer in her portfolio when she's up against so many straight A students vying for scholoarship and U entry.
