SST admits its students through the DSA-Sec Exercise. As it does not participate in the MOE Secondary 1 Posting Exercise, students who wish to be considered for a place in SST are strongly encouraged to apply through the DSA-Sec Exercise. ***Applicants from national primary schools must be sitting for the PSLE (or equivalent) this year to apply.
DSA-Sec 2013 Application Period: 27 April 2013, 9.00 a.m. to 5 July 2013, 5.00 p.m. -

yes, we are going for the open house end of this month too..... thought P5 is too early for all these but dd was invited so just go and look see look see...... hope dd can be more hardworking after seeing her senior there......
hub ? Invitation ? Just wonder how does yr DD get this ?
Yes, it is a good idea to go for open hse, esply since their mid exam will be over by then. :rahrah:
Sorry for late reply. Was on leave yesterday.
We've got NO invitation to attend open houses. DS1 just thought of this DSA school ( we've got cousins in this school) and expressed interest to go see see look look. This is the only school he is keen, besides those neighbourhood sec schools that I am aiming for him. I want DS1 to go through O' Levels and not IB programs.... -
DD has been tagging along with me to DD1's sec school, and has expressed interest in joining jie jie in the same school. For her, right now, it's either that, or moving up to her affiliate sec school since she's already got friends there.
For an alternative, thinking of bringing her to MGS open house. Hopefully find out a bit more about the IB program. -

Thanks for trying, I also did some digging myself but only came across threads regarding EL orals, so I made do with those. Also took a look at the EL/CL compos threads as I thot they can complement each other. :xedfingers:
So sorry JAM. Hv tried to seach for that thread but not successful. It seems to hv just disappeared in this deep KS forum ocean. :imdrowning:
That was really a useful thread .
Hey, I went to search again & guess what I just discovered! - http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=36974 Perhaps we can just build on this?
Anyway, we did whatever we could, ie ran thru the steps & points to watch out for, a few scenarios (but none came up!) & she tried her best even though she was having stomachache due to her anxiety. Surprisingly she did exceptionally well, despite her stammering a couple of times during reading, not able to name the scenario in Chinese (it was a fun fair/carnival with food & games stalls) during picture discussion & not understanding the conversation question until the teacher whispered frantically to her in English! :lightrod:
Now we are wondering whether the marks belongs to another girl (who has the same chinese name as my dd... :scratchhead: ) -

That's fast! Hope the results turn out better than you fear... :hugs:just completed all written test papers today.
Teachers had gone thru some maths answers but not the papers yet. Looks like a disappointment to go thru these few days.
We can treat this SA as a guide to gage how are our kids coping with the PSLE-level work. This is a good chance to assess their strengths & weaknesses in order to build or patch up on them. Anyway, that's how I'm going to do it cos today is my dd's 1st paper & today's subject is the one she had the most practice on (6 pprs). For maths & science, still stuck at 3 & 1 respectively. For CL/HCL - zilch. She just spends her time reading, listening to music & eating ice cream while doing hw.
I believe I need to have a great leap of faith...

:congrats: on completing the exams! Pretty sure ur dd will do okHooray! Today's the last paper for my dd.
Think she wants to go for the SCGS open house with a few of her friends. Its on the 25th.
We still have a week more to go...
hmmm... seems that everyone is geared up for open house. been needling my dd to go have a look & after weeks of subliminal effect, she finally said yes yesterday... heh heh...
since may 25 is the day, probably do some school hopping on that day. just seeing girls schools though. if all else fails, just go back to affiliated sec school lor

MGS is also 1 of the schools I'm thinking of, is their open house on 25 may too?DD has been tagging along with me to DD1's sec school, and has expressed interest in joining jie jie in the same school. btw, is it too much to ask which school is your dd1 in? our current inclination is still current school but I would like my dd to have a look around, just for exposure
