      Not true. Some branch does take in students as young as 3yo. Start from mastering the 26 first letter sound before promoting to blending level.

          My dd went for 2 different branches for assessment and both branch offered her the TCS level. The assessor told me she probably needs 5-6 lessons to promote into next level. She is 3yo. Prior the assessment, she has already mastered all first sound and some simple reading. On the other hand, my DS who is 5yo gonna completing his ICR advance in another term. Phonics does help him a lot in spelling, not only reading. Hth.

            saw some educational materials on teaching the child 30 most common used words in a fun way which i think is it quite useful as it helps to bring practical use of the words they learnt…but price is ex…$20 for a pack of cards…oh my…

              That's a rip-off! Try looking online - there are many sites which provide free teaching materials. Starfall is a good website for phonics. For learning sight words, the Dolch list is 220 of the most common sight words. I used this booklet for teaching my daughter years ago:
