June 1 month and sep 1 week will not be fun for p6s…bcos it is the best time to catch up and revise. Come July, schools are going to intensify revision. There is PSLE oral in Aug…maybe kids can take a breather after that. Avoid deep fried, oily food & chocolate for a month leading up to the Oral exam.
June holiday is not really a holiday 😢 I just learned that DS must go to school on the 1st week and 4th week of holiday for supplementary lessons. Are all schools like that?

        Yes.

My daughter's school only had classes in the 4th week. If you don't think they will be helpful, you can excuse your son from the classes.
I don't dare. So far, they use afternoon supplementary lessons time as extension of morning sessions. The form teacher also said they will still be teaching some topics in Term 3 such as volume (maths). So, it is very likely they will teach new things during June holiday. My DS school is slow one lah... 😢

Sorry I cannot help you 'cos my son is not in NYPS. But out of curiosity, why do you want to know?

I attended NYPS more than 10 years ago, so I am not sure if it is still accurate.

Last time, the \"best\" class for p6 are those with alphabet behind. Classes range from A, to Q (excluding letter \"O\").
So best is N,P,Q (usually the GEP classes)
                  best for mainstream is \"J,L,K\".

by \"best\", I mean academic results. After many years in the education system, I have realised each child is different. There is no \"best\" child. Even those naughty child has great potential.

We have not yet been informed. From the past papers, most are in Aug, I think.

Son's extra classes in June last year were 2 hours at zoo for Math and 2 hours in school after that for science :?

I didn't let son attend bcos I was informed of dates quite late...already planned his June holiday program.

Thank you, clay569. We got at least 1 month before PSLE to work on weak areas identified in Prelim 🙏
