You should visit the open house this year with your son. Some schools have their open house on the same day, the maximum is going to 2 schools in the same day. You can also use this opportunity to motivate your son. I did that with my gal last year, and we narrowed down to 2 schools this year. -
For those "top" secondary schools (RGS, NYGH, NJC etc), what should be the range of marks a student should get if they choose to go through DSA through their academic results? What marks should they often be getting so they still "got chance"?

I would say above 85 average score and top 5% of whole level. -

I think very tough as well. He is consistently at 95% but Iβm not sure if he can maintain this score at p5/6. -

Your DS Is in p4? I think it too early to worry for DSA in academic, unless you want to DSA in special talents, such as sports or cca or leadership etc, for MAths, like what jtoh suggested, go for Maths Olympiad or all other tests may help. All the best. -
He is P5 now, SA1 results not out.

Hi Lurline,
I'm not sure if Plat or Gold awards means sure get the DSA offer, but definitely will have much higher chances to get into the selection rounds.
DS only managed Silver awards in his NMOS & SMOPS, but he managed to get COs from RV and ACSI, WL from NUSH. For HCI, I believe he failed at the interview round. Just sharing for your reference.
I will be letting DD attempt DSA this year too via Maths domain. While I read that she can be exempted from the GAT for one of the schools, that doesn't mean she's guarantee any DSA offer.....still have to go through the whole process. Shall wait till then to know the outcome. -
